Quesion: I bought a new Honda trash pump similar to the one in this video. The manual says I need to fill the pump with water before I start the engine. The first time, I filled only the pump with water; but it would not pump water. So the next time I tried filling the entire 25 feet of suction hose with water before starting the motor; and that worked. My question is "Do I have to fill the entire system like that every time I want to pump? It took a lot of water to fill the hose.
You people are nuts. At idle, that thing is pumping about 2 gallons. At full power, could empty your granny's basement (and Granny if she's not careful) in about 5 minutes. It could empty a swimming pool in under an hour. So... What's wrong with that? There are stronger pumps, but for the money, there is none better. As a plumber I have had one for 6 years now. I bet I've pumped out 100 basements and over a million gallons of water...
becuase if you have it hooked up to run a irrigation system. you pretty much have to give it full throttle right away or it stalls. witch is bad for the motor no time to warm up. theres lots of reasons. prety much to make it last longer
dude change ur tampon. iam saying. every piston powerd engine out there. will beinifit from haveing a warm up. to allow everythink to expand. i start the thing up at 5 degress celcius and i have to run it flat out. not good for it. i hate how people like to be all cocky and bad ass on utube. same when there driveing
In my country, El Salvador, we use that kind of tool to irrigate plants. That thing can transport water up to 0.5 mile length, and up to 100 ft high. Its really impressing all that little motor can do.

I am not a plumber, I made that part up! But listen to that "diesel like" idle. Got to love it...
