SMG and Mario Kart were dumbded down versions in the series and no where near as good as previous games. Twighlight Princess was boring as shit, Brawl was good and everything else isn't as good as what's available on previous Nintendo consoles.

@matey27 Monster Hunter Tri was switched over to the Wii because the Wii has a larger market share. It has nothing to do with ease of development or graphics or gameplay or anything like that. More people own Wiis than PS3s, which means Capcom can sell more copies.

You'll be fine, since there isn't much of a story, at all. The only advantage of playing the others before it is you'll have a better sense on how to play to start with, and you'll know whether you'll like the series or not already. :P

lets face it- the controls aren't going to work as well as they do on a proper controller and if it's going to use friend codes like the other wii online games then that will make the online redundant.

it has control options that go along with the classic controller and has mappings almost exactly the same as ps2 and psp

In NA and EU they are bringing in a Classic Controller Pro, which is like the good old ps2 controller. The game's control scheme has 3 options; Wiimote control scheme, PSP control scheme(you get the second analog stick to change camera, quite nice actually), and ps2 control scheme(for the vets who have played MH1 and MH2 on the ps2). These control schemes work very well. It had also been announced that capcom will be hosting the servers, and there fore, no friend codes.

That's why it's not using friend codes. It uses Capcom's own system which I tried out on the Japanese version and I have to admit it's as good as XBox Live. Also, the Wiimote controls worked surprisingly well for me but I seem to be in the minority, luckily the Classic Controller Pro solves that problem. This is all coming from a Wii/360/Good PC owner who seems more time gaming on PC than on console.
