It looks like the guy committed suicide because of his dead wife and events are rewinding back to when they first met as children and made a promise to be with each other forever. I'd say the song itself is about remembering that childlike innocence; treasuring the time you have with someone now rather than when they are gone. "The child bless thee and keep thee" isn't religious but a reference to the hopes of the child within.

1. She wanted to put nightwish on hold while she did a solo career

2. She cared more about money then the music

4. She wasnt even with the band for recording or writing of the album "once" she was in germany
