  • How does this swing not screw up your left knee with all your weight stacked on it and why arent you lifting your back leg on the follow through?

  • Good observation. In this video, I am doing a drill where the goal is to stop my swing as soon as I hit the ball. I am not sure exactly what the effect of the drill was, but it helped me start making really good contact and hitting nice draws. So the lack of raising my left heel (I'm a lefty of course) is due to the drill.

On the left knee. It does not bother it which is surprising because I had complete reconstructive surgery on that knee last year after a bad snowmobiling accident.

  • looks like you're going for control and sacrificing power

  • That's an 8 iron and I am hitting 150, so it is typical distance for me regardless of swing type. So to answer your question (if it was a question), no, I am not intending to make a sacrifice to gain control.

  • @ChrisPerkinsFamily nice swing, good extension through follow through, you have a pretty strong grip, are you hitting fades or draws? not judging, just curious

  • I was hitting nice draws after Chris got done with me that day. Yes, pretty strong grip, which is what I have always done, but Chris did not make me change that. Not sure if he would have weakened it if we had more lessons together. Unfortuneatly, I don't live in that area so I was only able to get one lesson.

Chris recommended that I buy the Stack and Tilt book, I did and would also recommend it. Instruction from a guy like Chris is crucial to learn this swing.
