Baboons almost have the same canine size as the Lions. So a Lioness wouldn't dare risk a bite from a Baboon and get injured. Much prop to that Baboon though for standing its ground. It should've just run and claim the trees though for safety.

BTW... Lions have slightly longer canines than Baboons. Even though Baboons have longer canines they do tend to get killed by Chimps.
@Naturalhit Chimps are incredibly strong! Even when they are very young, they're strong and by the time a male chimp reaches maturity, I have heard it has the strength of 3 human males. Not just the strength, but much more agility.

They can hop up lower branches that will support their weight or fallen logs but they do not have the prowess that a leopard does for jumping, latching their claws into a tree trunk like a bear hug and climbing way up high. You won't see grown cheetahs do it, either. The cubs will climb, but not the adults. Leopards are masters at tree climbing.

Baboons...not including predators found in rivers such as crocs and hippos....and although elephants are not considered "predators", you won't see lions going after them. But there is just no hint of a mane that a 2 year-old male lion would have. A male lion of 2 would certainly not have a full mane but it would be apparent as coming in by that age. This is a lioness.

@kayam2011 Anyone who has watched any nature shows featuring baboons can clearly see they have excellent speed, agility, very large canines, and bad tempers. They normally travel in troops and once they start moving, they run fast. They are definitely animals to be feared.

I reckon at the start the baboon dealt a surprise clawed blow to the face of the lion and that memory stopped the single lion from attacking. I've seen this with my cat, a grasshopper jumped and hit it in the eye and it was scared of it after that!

Dont know if anyone is said that but I am pretty sure that the baboon is not 'chasing' the lion. Its maybe trying to intimidate it but I think the main reason is at a) wants to keep track of her and b) wants to be able to face her head on if she does attack as that is where he can use his teeth as weapons. If he runs he is screwed because she can catch him and kill him faster than he can respond.

THUMBS UP if Sharon is one of the dumbest person's you've seen on youtube today. First she tells the baboon to "run". Second, she distracts the baboon (probably with her arms flailing while yelling at it) causing it to not run away and be killed.
