  • Bravo!

  • Great video but you need a better camera

  • Great lesson...I do it the same but don't adopt the C shape as you do. Still works though.

  • You're so awesome. Thanks so much for putting up this tutorial! You make it so simple!

  • The story is that Paul and John were joking about what they would do if a girl turned them down... John said he would burn her house down. It is also a jab at the abundance of "low rent" women living in flats furnished with "Norwegian Wood" which was basically very cheap, rather crappy looking furniture.

  • I friken love you man!!!!! i think your tutorial is the only one i understand ^^D GOD bless you man! ^^D

  • Thank you Gold really Gold please keep it going you have taught me so much love it thank thank tthank you

    Nick

  • I watched this video 50 times! But now I get it!

  • Great lesson. Try playing the first part of the d minor section at the fifth fret (e - 5th, b 6th and g 7th) to get the melody note. Keep up the good work!

  • Absolutely fantastic cover.... please check my Norwegian Wood cover

  • thank you. i love to get sad to this song

  • Great lesson, thanks!! I still can't get over how many great songs they wrote together.

  • great lesson goldhat, thanks much!

  • Nice bit of info

  • Hm, as I heard it, he used Norwegian wood to describe cheap furniture made out of pine, and people called it Norwegian wood to make it sound nicer. What I heard was that the song was about one of Lennon's affairs, and in the end he burns her apartment down for making him sleep in the bath.

  • i heard the too, when she left for work, there was no fire wood so lennon burnt the Norwegian wood, the girl was a prostitute i thought, 'i once had a girl, or should i say she once HAD me', 'she told me she had work in the morning and i started to laugh'.

  • thank you, your kwl

  • It's actually believed that Norwegian Wood was said instead of "knowing she would" not "I knew she would". But other than that, good job with the lesson - although to play along with the recorded version, you'll need a capo on the 2nd fret, and play the chords relative to that.

  • But I might be wrong.. anyway, thanks for the lesson.. really enjoyd learning the song..

  • im a bit confused.. im a little new in this but im pretty sure that the notes are played D / C x2 but when after you hit the Dm i think it should be G and NOT C..... and THEN Dm / Em....

  • This is a better version, and if your new don't comment on his version. I like this guitar version more than the original. Besides the original was played on an Indian Instrument (Not Native American Indian)

  • A sitar, I believe it's called.

  • It was the first time a sitar was recorded a do believe, not a hundred percent sure though.

  • I don't play guitar but I enjoyed your performance... excellent, thank you!

  • Thank u so much u rock

  • awesome! i can totally play this now, thank you :)

  • As always, your lessons are wonderful. Your choice of songs, clear presentation and warm performance are always appreciated. Thanks for your help in my efforts to learn guitar.

  • Methfree,this is from wikipedia.

Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown)" is a song by The Beatles which first appeared on the 1965 album Rubber Soul. While credited to Lennon/McCartney, it was primarily written by John Lennon, though Paul McCartney contributed to the middle eight section.

    George didn't write this.

  • thanks, I've been wanting to learn this song for the longest!

  • I Don't remember this guitar, it's a washburn isn't it? Good lesson btw.

  • Guild D-25 cherry 1974.

  • Oh yes that is a Guild isn't it. I Should've known Mr. Goldhat wouldn't play something as cheap as a washburn haha. Apparently Washburn stole the Guild pickguard design.
