hold the power button and press the reset but (put a pin in the wholw) together and let go on power buttton. this should bring u to the recovery mode, reset ur player (u'll lose everything on it) but it will read on the computer again

By any chance do you know how to get ride of the white screen of death on those? Mine has it and I've tried everything. It doesn't change back when charging in my wall charger or via computer, reset does nothing and the little hold trick doesn't work ether. Please help if you can.

@BugGirl238 you may have to reinstall the firmware. or reset it. Put a bent paper clip through that little pin hole next to where you put the charger. It says RESET in small letters.

Just taking the device apart wont fix anything unless you do something to it while it's in pieces.

If it's stuck in recovery mode have you tried formatting and reinstalling the firmware?

I opened it up a little too far and ripped off the part that's soldered to the board where the battery plugs into.

hi marc, my brother gave me a Creative ZEN card size 4g with an SD slot. I enjoyed it for at least 3 mos but then it kinda giving me a problem. Whenever I turned on my ZEN, the LCD just brightened up (like it turned on), but no pictures came out of it. But, when I push play, there's music in it. So, i guess it's the LCD. Do you know how to open it apart coz maybe it's just loose or something. Please help... Thanks!

i want to upgrade the harddrive on my zen m to a larger size sometime in the near future. My question is about the harddrives that the Ipod classic use (the 80 gig). Can i replace my 30 gig harddrive with the one in the 8 0 gig ipod? I figured the apple piece of garbage is almost the same cost as the harddrive alone.

Anyone have any luck upgrading the HD in this? Largest I see available at the same 1.8" 5.0mm size is 40gb which is hardly worth the time to do it or the headaches possibly involved. I'd like to upgrade my 30 to a 80 or 100. Possible to use another drive beside the Toshiba?

Judging by this video, it appears the zen vision:M CAN have its battery replaced. Alot of reviews seem to state otherwise. Though i suppose not many of them actually took apart their's.
