You captured this really well! I´ve been to Thailand as many times as I can count on my fingers, but unfortunately never during Songkran :( I love how everyone gets involved in it. There truly ought to more stuff like this worldwide. I hope your camera didn´t get totaled!
@mushrume : That´s an interesting take! I suppose it´s somewhat fake/pretentious in some ways but it truly does appear many are enjoying it. I certainly wouldn´t want to take my dSLR out on this day - smile soon turned to a rather indefinite frown.

i think it's just aneasy way for thai men and white men to get away with squirting women in public :P
they say that it is their culture ubt how can that be when generalized plastics for water guns came out in the late 1950's ??
just a thought .
i hate getting wet . i just hit the club scene in BKK when i go .
most places are culturally dirty there.....shame
