Do you know about Debussy 'poking fun' at Wagner at 1.12 to 1.17 etc. he is 'laughing' at the Tristan and Isolde theme - part of an Opera which runs for several hours.
@FeBlandMusic yeah when i found out about it, i could see this part from a different perspective. it helped me understand this piece better and it's also more interesting to play pieces knowing the composer's intentions ! now everytime i come to that part, i think of that story and it always makes me smile haha
maybe you have a good sense for breaks, for your age, but notes arent good.In middle part, you miss whole 2 time!!! First learn notes, better when you play it from memory, not from sheets...
@Treelou101 I think great isnt the best word.It is passable. In 13 everybody can play this notes, but music isnt about playing black balls in a stave.Music is about feeling implications...I dont like small childrens, most often from china, witch have no childhood, just all time play the piano to be good in it, but they dont feel that.just notes, nothing else....I havent heard this one on guitar, I'll look it up, do you have some video with guitar? (sorry for bad english, Im young foreigner)
@5tamzy5@Treelou101 thanks for your comments. i was pretty nervous in this performance so i was focusing more on the correct notes and not really the musicality. now i'm older (15) and i try to play more by memory, and with feeling too. haha hopefully i'll put up some more videos soon, but i'm kinda lazy. haha
You're 13, right? I think I saw that in another comment. This is a tough piece, and it jumps around so much too. I wouldn't have been able to keep calm performing this piece at 13. You really did well for being nervous.
I've had a few bad nervous performances myself. From what I feel, just give it smart practice, don't give yourself too much pressure, and do try out the piano before recitals.
Keep it up! Have you ever played "The Snow is Dancing" or "The Girl with the Flaxen Hair"?
Five stars for effort Maya. Don't be too concerned that you were a bit nervous, I think even the best get a few flutters before playing to a live audience. I certainly do.
Anyhow keep up the hard work and I look fwd to seeing more of you.
well done

I think if you lern this piece memorised it will by better you look the whole time to the score and are to deal with the score.
if you play it from memory you make not more the stops.

It's not easy to play in front of an audience! Vivian sometimes gets nervous, too!
I guess you just have to hear the music and try to enjoy it. If possible, try out the piano before the recital also helps.
