Its been so long that i can't remember what brushless system they were running. as for me i got a slash only because i converted it from a rustler but in the end it would have been cheeper to just buy it.
5 people are sc10 owners LOL you guys can say anything about its the driver, but toughness isnt about the driver, and sc10 LOSES their... i would rather have a lot tougher, and about as race worthy compared to a weak POS
@erevofreak96 I own 3 Sc10 trucks and never have I broken anything on them. POS is exactly what trax ass is. If you want podium ready race trucks then you go to Team Associated or Losi. If you want something that breaks when you push it to far then you go with Traxxas. I havent broken anything on my trucks and yes my son and I beat the shit out of them all week long. We race on Wendsdays and sundays and bash when not at the track. So lets look at the win ratios between the 2.
If you have seen the rustler or the stampede, the slash is build the same way. Built to take a beating because alot of bashersand young kids drive them. Once you put RPM parts on it there isn't much that will brake
@a5kylar That's setup and driver ability. The Slash has a higher center of gravity so you could purchase a low-cg chassis, slicker tires, or just go slower into the turn. The whole sc10 flipping off of jumps is mainly just the driver. With good throttle control you can get pretty much any truck to jump smoothly. If that's not the case, you may also adjust your battery position.
Out of Losi,Traxxas,AE,HPI, i really think losi should step this one out, that strike's small chassis reminds me of a stampede or somthing and just doesn't fit my style, i'm thinking of getting the sc10 just because i want a team associated rc, but have to give to traxxas water proofing is good but im not going to stand in the rain and play with my rc..
lol you cant really compare.. i mean its the user who has to really say which one they like.. i mean no offense, but this video cant show one is better than the other because everyone has a different style of driving, which can show one might have a faster and less careful driving style then a slower more careful driver..
Agreed. My brother races an SC10 (novak brushless) and I race a Slash (using his discarded stock SC10 motor and Novak Tempest). I hate the way the SC10 handles and he hates the way the Slash handles. It's all what feels right to you. Also, the swaybar in my Slash helps the extreme body-roll =)
I know there's a swaybar kit floating around the internet somewhere for it, but I modified a buggy swaybar kit. I could take pics or something if you'd like.
i know huh why do ppl hate the slash so much i honestly like the sc10 more but if there was no sc10 i would buy the slash over the blits or the losi strike.
I would think the sc10 has a racing advantage over the slash just cause of the chassis layout-slash has that heavy motor hanging off the back. new mission slash 4x4-ive seen prices from 375-395.
not trying to sound like an ass but where is the motor on the sc10. there isn't that much of a weight difference between a 540 and a 550 can motor. Out of the races i've seen racing both trucks have done well riding on 1/8 buggy wheels
I thought the sc10's motor was on the chassis just infront of the rear shocks-i was wrong-its in the same spot as the slash-maybe the hpi or losi version is on the chassis-oops.
the slash did not invent the short course class.Robotronics had the first.even if the slash was before the sc10 it doesnt mean any thing.the sc10 is way better in almost every way to the slash how many slashes were in the last roar short course final? NONE.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
at least the slash is origional.... traxxas seriously CREATED A CLASS and your beloved SC10 wouldnt EXIST if it werent for the slash. so give the slash a fuckin' break people. its cheap, has ok features, and is fun to drive. the associated is expensive, has good features, and is for the avid racer... they are what they are
the slash wasn't the first to run that style of body. Robotronic had one first on a buggy chassis and the pics of it in car action magazine had a spair wheel on its back The slash is the first 2wd hands down
yea i agree, losi had a 4wd trophy truck like 15 years ago but it was essentially the buggy with a different bodyshell on it. im just arguing that people are being pretty bitter towards the slash and ignoring the fact that traxxas accidentally invented an entire new category of racing that all other companies followed. i just dont think its fair to criticise the company that pioneered a racing category.
@CoonBabble That's how Traxxas usually works. They produce a new truck, for lack of a better word, a prototype, to entice beginners into that area of RC and to not be a serious racer. Then companies, such as AE, follow the bandwagon and produce raceable trucks to add to the market. The regular Slash is $239. The 2.4ghz version of the sc10 is $219.
Meh, if you just bash buy RPM a-arms and you have superior machine. Oh, and the slash isn't much tougher anyway. When you start putting bigger and better motors nothing stock will hold up. So you might as well go with better designed vehicle or buy a Revo.
The sc10 is better for racing, but for someone who, say, does not race all the time, the slash is a better basher. Besides, if you want to make it into a racer, just buy a LCG chassis. There are like, ten of them to choose from.
@parrys3 Excluding the Revo, Traxxas hasn't won a racing championship or whatever in quite a long time. "probs the best electric make out there". If I understood what you were saying correctly, (difficult to do, really) then that makes you pretty ignorant. Have you ever owned any other brands? Traxxas makes entry-level vehicles, whereas other companies produce them geared towards racing. Traxxas definitely doesn't make the best electric vehicles out there, but they're good.
@eyeAMtwinkEE well yhr they cant be the best in everything but the slash is the best electric sc truck out there as is has been truck of the year 2 times in a row (and as it only came out in 09 i think its got to be good), and i have and will be getting a different make of truck, probs a nitro from kyosho, mad force cruise.
@parrys3 It has won awards, but it isn't the best. If you want a good mix between bash-ability and the ability to race, get the Blitz or SC10. All around, those two are some of the better trucks. The slash is durable, yes, but it isn't quite up to par on the track without some major upgrades.
ive driven a stock slash and did 10 laps with it(no crashes) ive done 13 laps with a stock sc10 (2 crashes) the sc 10 IS A RACE TRUCK.... the slash is a backyard basher..... dont try to fool the masses with tripe about the slash being better at the track....its NOT. sorry if the truth hurts
the slash is way heavier, has a more inefficient tranny, is more top heavy, shorter arms. the sc10 is a true race truck, in the hands of a good driver the sc 10 will leave the slash in its dust.ive bin racing rc for 20+ years and win with the sc10 all the time.sc10 have won every race at the track i race on.8 out of 10 trucks in the A main are sc10s.the slash is a great backyard basher but the sc10 is king of the track.dont e mail me cause ill just delete it.post a comment instead. Slash is more fun. I own a slash, and I have driven the sc10. IMO, the slash is tougher, and generally better designed, although racing wise, the sc10 is alitlte faster.
only becasue i know for a fact that team ae bought a slash and pict out what flaws they say and fixed them and also its based off a t4 cause i got both slash and sc10 and i borrowed parts off a guys t4
@bigdog813 team ass never needed to buy a slash.....they had a way better platform to start with(t4) the slash is based on the stampede and sledgehammer.
Yeah the sc10 is better built. But the slash is alot tougher. I own both of them and race them every weekend. The sc10 will break, I have yet to break the slash.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I agree 100%! I also own both and sure the SC10 is more realistic to the true scale of a desert off road short course but it's not quite as tough when it comes to the suspension elements. Plus the Traxxas takes less skill to fix and maintain parts. The SC10 requires more tools and uses metric and standard hardware. You can't say one is BETTER out of the box it depends on PERSONAL preferance but without a doubt the Traxxas cost less and is easier to work on. Its the SKILL of the driver
