I always believe that the more conservative the religion, the more bigotry, sexism and hate is promoted.

OF course I'm against atrocities in the Islamic world (and anywhere for that matter) but my time and energy is better spent trying to influence those who I have a slight possibility of influencing, rather then those who do not even speak the same language as I.

On the filp side,not all Arabs, dark skined people, or those in middle eastern garb are musilms. To paint them as such is bigoted as it plays up and reinforces negitive stereotypes. Furthermore,Islamic sects can interpert their scripture differently, cherry picking, just like the christians and jews.

I don't oppose it, the ban hasn't quelled religious abuse in countries its enacted in, it seems designed to appeal to right wingers more than anything, and i can't see how it would achieve any wider goals, but its not something to oppose - to worship 'freedom' of dress is as bad as a 'free market,' ignores social forces making people harm themselves. That said, don't vote how the world works level libertarian insanity (vote UKIP) over it.
