when u watch fringe on tv it seems that they keep flowing in and out of diffrent plots. But watching this shows how all the plots are somewhat connected.

The equations are randomly picked, i don't think you need to worry about them, I mean the third equation is for high-school kids, its a basic equation.

The other math signs look like function the Sigma is the sommationnumber, Greek S = calculating the Variant, S² = the square root of S. for Example in functions(Sigma = f(1) + f(2)+f(3) + f(x= unknown)... / the amount of F's) This doesn't seem clear, anyhow it's part of 'Veeltermfuncties(in dutch) ... It's used in statistics aswell.

I'm not sure if you are still wondering about the other two equations, but i believe they relate to Lagrange functions. I'm not exactly sure, but they seem to be very similar. hope this helps.
