@leonardo1480 A queen will hibernate.....under tree bark or in a spot where it's warm....sometimes a queen will spawn from a nest from last year. .....It's the workers (sterile females) that die every mid fall.
Any colony of social insects (ants,termites,wasps,bees, ect) consists of mostly workers.
If it's in a tree that's higher than 12 feet....it should be left alone.

The queens mate before they overwinter so they are ready to start their new colonies in the spring.

So they die off in winter so how do they reproduce the next time ??
