I don't think I ever encountered anyone in the US thinking they were better than Russia or Russians. (Not to say they don't exist..I didn't know alot of racists, either) But the specific propaganda that was implanted in us was that in the US you could " vote for my choice, speak my mind, *raise my voice*, yes, I like it here* (a lyric, eg), with the implication being other people elsewhere couldn't. (somewhat true)

We thought our press raised its voice. It doesn't. That's sad.
