@guitarbridgecleaner Union Scale for the day was probably around $550. The residuals added up to several 1000. Keep in mind that an actor might only get a few spots a year. We would audition for maybe 50 spots before bagging one. In my heyday, I was getting 1 out of 10 maybe. Some of my buddies were pulling down a couple hundred thou a year. I was doing less, and very happy with my theater work, working soaps - guest artist for almost all of them - and enjoying the best town in the world.

I never played the game at home. I was too busy working on my acting craft and scoring with beautiful babes to play video games on TV. But it was fun to walk down Broadway and go into my favorite arcade and play pinball and Donkeykong between auditions... and nobody knew that I was Mario ... quite a kicker! I got pretty good at it. This was one of the first "non-pinball" games. I think only Pacman came before Donkeykong for this kind of game

I used to play DK pretty good and there is one secret in the first level of the game.

When you climb the first flor ,you need one short strike on the joystick to move the Mario,a little bit, to the right (he must look to the left) and than branch backward to the right !

You`ll come immadeitely in the next level !

Everything had sub-par graphics on home systems. Neither the consoles nor the home computers were powerful enough to handle that kind of game at the time. Once game consoles and computers did catch up, it spelled the death of arcade games. Sure they're still around, but the market for them is no where near as it was before, and most of their graphics advantages are all but gone.
