You can't really control it. It's like when you have to scratch an itch. If you don't do it, it'll bother you. I was diagnosed with Tourette's at age 8 [although my Mom says 7 1/2] and I am almost 19 now. Like some TS patients do, my tics are calming down and are not as severe as when I was a lot younger, but being nervous can still cause an onslaught of them. As for the types of ticcing, there are a lot of different types. I tip my neck and blink hard, and occasionally huff.
I did used to have more severe ones though. I would twitch my stomach so much and so hard that I would have really bad cramps, but that didn't happen too often. Luckily, not everyone has a severe case of it.

Anyway, back to the subject. I hate tics. I have several motor tics, but only 1 vocal tic.

very very annoying
i have tics but i dont have tourettes
so i just blink alot and lick my lips
but i always feel like people are staring at ne
you cant really explain what its like
