the referees will stop the fight if one player is taking a serious beating, if they get tangled up on the ground or if they get tied up standing up for too long

fighting is used in hockey to motivate a team that has lost it's self esteem and help get the crowd back into it or silence the crowd, depending on which side you're on. Soccer doesn't have fighting cuz soccer players are a bunch of pussies diving around and acting like drama queens, and that's the worse type of sportsmanship i've ever seen in a sport and it's pathetic. hockey gives you a penalty and a monetary fine for diving, as it should be...

TO BLEONARDO26---not in the nhl you cant as long as its a 1 on 1 fight. you can get kicked out for various other fight reasons such as third man in or second fight during the same stoppage of play. in teh league im in atm you will get kicked out of the game and suspended for a couple more for fighting
