@NinjaTHErappa I've been a loyal customer since 1971 right after I got out of the military. I haven't found any place that has pizza anywhere near as good as Pizza Man's. Been going to Maria's but it's only until Pizza Man gets reopened.
What a horrible, horrible shame! Not only was a landmark destroyed and a favorite among patrons taken away, but such a huge personal loss for the owner and those that worked there. And, if this was really intentionally set, then it was a tremendous crime. I can only hope that the business and be rebuilt...it's not just the business, it's the principle of the thing...we must not let criminals destroy us or what we have.
@29isDonna, not to mention there were 10 apartments upstairs.. it's so horrible for the people who are now homeless and have lost their homes and all their possessions along with it.
This is crazy...i just found out tonite driving to go clubing (cush and decible)...its a real shocker...hope a quick recovery to Pizza Man and neighboring businesses!!...
As an east sider for many years, living only 2 blocks aways from this beautiful building, my heart goes out to the business owners, the families and all who risked their lives today. This is a sad day for all who cherished that heavenly corner.
My step dad owns PizzaMan and its a terrible loss for us. My step dad is devistated as are we. Please wish us well and to the people who lost there homes and places. thx.
@IceBreaker832 Im very sorry to hear that. I know probably the loss hasn't even sank in yet, but did he have insurance? Is he planning to rebuild or what? Sorry if it's so soon afterwards
As of right now, he is planning on rebuilding a new PizzaMan, maybe not in the same location but somewere on the East Side. If anyone wants to support us even more, please become a fan on facebook of PizzaMan. Thank you everyone and ill post as many updated on my youtube page as possible. I dont have the ability to post videos, but i will put down as much messages as I can. Thank you.
I've got this to say, why not rebuild right there on the same spot? With a parking lot too. After all, you were a landmark on the east side, known and loved by everyone. BTW, I still have my Pizza Man t-shirt (circa 1972) somewhere. A bit worn, but still as colorful as when I won it. (Yes, from Bob Riteman on WZMF-FM too.) I'll try to find it and post a vid with me wearing it.

Aww, man. I used to love reading the quotations on the scrolling marquee when I walked past Pizza Man.

Pizza Man was a fixture there on Oakland and North for 40 years. My first time there was in 1971 but they had home deliveries too.
I won more than my fair share of free pizzas from them thanks to Bob Reitman when he was on WZMF-FM back then too. OMG, they were SO good.
I really really hope they rebuild. Pizza Man was an unknown Milwaukee treasure and to lose it would be a shame.
