  • no pwm? and freq and duty cycle adjustment?

  • 1st off ,you have the breakers wired backwards, doesn't really matter all that much, but it would never meet code...the input is the big lugs and outputs are off the breakers.

  • I like your attitude.

  • I'm curious what you are trying to accomplish, you have liquid fuel in the beginning. Converting that chemical potential energy to kinetic energy to electrical energy, losing about 80% of the initial energy. Then converting that back to a fuel with another heavy loss in power.

If you where running the system off of a solar array to produce a storable transportable gaseous fuel, I guess it makes some sense, but you could also just use electrical energy with batteries.

    What's the cost?

  • @x65535x Like I have said a hundred times in these threads. It's just for fun. The cell has no real world applications. maybe cooking :) or blowing up a lot of balloons! who cares I'm having fun and learning different way to handle large amounts of hydroxy.

  • @delvis11

That's what I like to hear, these things are fun. But are useless for much aside from heating and gas welding.

Anyways, since you are using identical positive and negative plates you could run the unit on straight AC. I'd be curious to see if you found any difference.

  • seems like alot of work just to get your 220VDC.. Why not just get a 600V rated bridge rectifier module for like $45 off ebay. Just take your 220VAC and use some heavy duty connectors and screw them down to the module and your down without soldering a bunch of wires..

  • @altern8energy sounds a lot smarter. I didn't know these were available.

  • good to see you playing with it again.. I am on financial lockdown for the time being.. absolutely no money to go with my bigger designed cell.. I wanna go 24" x 24" with 63 plates at 130VDC.. My theory is the bigger the plates, the more surface area, which means more gas production. my 6" x 6" cell draws zero current with pure distilled water and by adding just the amount of KOH I want, I can maintain 10+ LPM at 10A. I ponder what the production would be with even more surface area.

  • @altern8energy I understand the financial problem. Funds lately are hard to come by. That 24x24 cell would be great to see. maybe someday we will see it.

  • that was great of you to explain the bridge rectifier layout Steve.

  • @sylvanenergy I help where I can :)

  • I love the fact that you are doing this with your kids around. This will help to open their minds to a greater world than what we are taught in school.

As Great as the work you are doing is, what they may do could make all of our work look silly.

    Kids are our future.

Rock on with your Bad self.

  • @mikepowers420 sometimes they will watch me. My 5 year old seems a little more interested that my 8 year old. He loves to "make bubbles"

  • @delvis11 , it's funny how we are all so different. Just take a look at you boys, different interests and curiosity levels. One will be good with words, the other their hands. All I know is that it's obvious to me that they will both know they are loved. That Rocks.

  • @jab0805 No, AC from the generator 6:10 is going to be rectified to DC Volt. The cell needs DC. The battery is used to power the 12 volt pump 5:46 Have you watched the video?

  • @insAneTunA I understand that this demo is not showing car installation. I am asking a separate question not concerning this particular cell. I am just wondering if he has ever rectified the AC source from a car alternator to power a cell. I mistakenly put car battery instead of alternator. If he had tried it, I was wondering if he had any issues.

  • @jab0805 Your Alternator rectifies the ac current to DC internally to provide 12 - 14v DC. The battery is really just a buffer to further clean the power as well as to start the engine.

  • can't wait for that ROCK n ROLL !!!
