from now on, motorcycle reviews should just be covered by the Brits! More specifically, leave it to Neeves - the most trusted motorcycle journalist of our time
Neeves is the man ! He gave the Streetfighter his stamp of approval . If your on a tight budget he gave the new Kawasaki Z1000 a great review as well .
I thought this was a great review, for the audience they are aiming at. I want to see Ducati be as successful as possible and to do this they must go beyond the enthusiasts. If interested, the readers of the WSJ will find a more detailed review but this was a good intro to the bike for someone who may never take it to the track but wants a good fun ride. In Short: Let the Yuppies spend their money on Ducati
I agree that this review wasn't very informative but give them a break. We have to understand that the typical audience of WSJ wouldn't be able to fully appreciate a "real" review anyway. Just as a piece of literature may target a specific audience, commercials or product reviews do the same. Simply put, this so called "review" is sufficient enough to appeal to someone who could care less about brakes or linear power or whatever. As far as they care, it's Italian, it's beautiful, and fun.
I'm all for the WSJ but if this is how they're going to give beautiful machines like this Ducati justice, i think its better if they leave the reviewing to someone who knows what they're doing
Great review on the streets of NYC, hahaha. There`s a second part to this video in cooperation with Pampers. He will be opening the 848 up on Bouquet Cyn Rd wearing a diaper.
This was by far the gayest review of ANY bike (nevermind a 848) I have ever seen! Then again, what do you expect from the pompous group who read the Wall Street Journal & think, "hey - that looks like a great INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITY"...
Why did the WSJ even waste its time reviewing this bike with such a lack luster effort? Could Mr. Welsh sound any less enthusiastic? He spends no time talking about the performance or the specs or how it compares to other bikes or if he thinks it's worth the money. Instead, he sounds bored and concludes that the bike should only be driven on weekends or with little traffic and after having planned a route. This review is so depressing that it makes me want to swallow the barrel of a gun!
Nice bike, guy riding it is a twat, like all the guys in these WSJ reviews. Its 849cc too not 848 (I know not a big difference, but if I can notice it after searching google for 1 second, how much research did these guys do?)

$ 13.000,- = € 10.000,-
We in the Netherlands pay for that bike, completely stock € 15.000,- = $ 19.000,-
And we don't even need to ship it across the ocean! o_O We pay waaay too much tax on cars and motorcycles, that's for sure =S

Yep, all production made bikes (Like this one), are perfectly street-legal. It's no different than owning a Ferrari or Lamborghini.
