I'm not sure if someone has said it yet, but the reason why it is sometimes negative is because the variable you are changing is signed and assigning it a large value will usually go into the negative territory. It's just the system in place for interpreting binary numbers. The turning point is usually at the largest bit.

If the programmer uses an unsigned variable instead, then the variable is always positive.

Why are you using the speed hack to pause the game? Cheat Engine has a built in pause feature.

Try not to make the speed ridiculous. Keep it within reason. It freezes for me only when I make it speed up or slow down a ton. If your within reason and its still freezing then its your comp. Not enough resources
