  • I like how the camera blowing up and the sign blowing up were controlled explosions and not from the 'missiles'

  • @fixxxer928 i like how your an idiot and your trolling for no reason

  • "Wilkommen in WANK" AHHAHAHAHAHAH omg

  • i what one

  • 1:44 petrolhead porno moment,metaphorically speaking.

  • does anybody knows what episode is this? thanks.

  • can someone tell me the name of the episode or the series and #, i cant find it anywhere

  • @maxkuznetsov123456 You can't find it because its not Top Gear you dummy, its a DVD.

  • Jajajaja!!!!!

  • great car! :D

  • You idiots! KKK is the abreviation ON THE TURBO HOUSING ITSELF, of the Kremer Company, out of Germany. They made ALL of Porsche's turbos in that era. It has nothing to do with race!...unless by race you mean on a TRACK! What a bunch of morons! This turbo, in the 86 and 87 cars was a KKK K26/6. The Tubo S and later cars had KKK K26/8 turbos.

  • What a giggle

  • Comment removed

  • THAT WAS SO CLOSE!!! i lol'd

  • Does the 944 ( not turbo ) have a trunk ?

If yes is it big ?

    And, what's the difference between a 944 and a 944 targa ?

    Cheers

  • @RestLessIP A Targa is a car that has a removable part of the roof over the driver and front passenger seats. More than a moonroof but less than a convertable.

  • @RestLessIP Yes, all 944's have trunks. Although, because the gearbox is mounted at the back (to get perfect weight distribution on the corners), the trunk is quite shallow.

  • "i have exploooded with pleasure!!" hahahahahaha

  • they should use this instead of Aston Martin..

  • 924 suck

  • i hate it when he disrespects the 924

  • What's that epic music that plays while he's launching rockets? Sounds like something out of an '80s Spielberg film.

  • "I have just exPLODED with pleasure!"

    also, 1:58

  • top speed of a HORSE

  • @RylanGreer according to clarkson the top speed of a horse is 125 mph

    its awesome, thanx on00jh2

  • so the KKK used to make turbo's?

  • It is from some dvd he made that is apparently called Thriller. At least thats what Daily Mail said. Go to their site and search for "Clarkson speed camera rocket" and you'll get the article on it.

  • my da beat one of thes in a race with dis celica 1985 V4 terbo dubel over hed am

  • no more pop up headlamps?.... NSX... RX7?... theyre shit anyway.

  • @MrToiletclogger they don't make either of those anymore.. haven't for a while.

  • 944 is such an excellent car, elite for sure.

    944 + rockets +/- Jeremy Clarkson == amazing mayhem

  • song at 4:09 please please please tell me! with a cherry on top! I've heard it so many times I need to know what it is!

  • Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter

  • hah big thumping 2.5L.... i do love these cars btw

  • @RSTBADBOY idk what country youre in but in the U.S. you wont find one that runs for less than 5 - 6

  • @mattbakarr 3000 pounds, about 4.5-6000 US, here in canada the turbos are about 6-9

  • my first car :)

  • he's so crazy :D

  • WHY DID THEY END THE VIDEO?!?!?!

  • thunbs up if you have a 944 turbo!

  • @SiriusFisherman true...

  • Fight the power Jeremy! Damn the 80s and 90s were a great era of fast and stylish cars.

  • Come to Texas-Pleeeeeze..

  • REminds Me Or Viglainte * The Video Game

  • Rumage in the glove box for a pepa-mint lol that was great

  • that last rocket is hilariously fake

  • @ffffaffff

    No shit skippy... -_-

  • Clarkson just justified my reasons for getting a 944.

  • I HAVE EXPLODED WITH PLEASURE!!! Clarkson is one of this generations great orators

  • i love this car!!!!!!its so hard to find one in greece.......

  • 7:37 lol Wasting space and causing jams... In your commuity

  • You know what. I'm sick of the British whining. You guys live in a prison and it's your own fucking fault. You guys have CCTV and speed cameras all over the fucking place and don't have the good sense to move so its your own fucking fault! I don't even have an interest in visiting your country because of all that shit. here is a simple rule I follow. I never pay for parking to shop & I do my best to stay away from city's with speed cameras. Follow my lead and you will save a lot of money.

  • Cars that look beautiful with pop up headlamps: Porsche 944, 928, & 968. The C2, C3, C4 & C5 corvettes. the C6s lights look the worst of all. The Mazda RX7. There are so many Ferrari with pop up lights that look good I cant list them all. Lamborghini Islero, Jarama, Urraco, Diablo, Countach. Maserati Bora. Pop up lamps only went out because Honda started & stopped using them. They will be back.

  • @bronxboyXXX Unfortunately they won't be back. Some sissy European safety standard killed them because of "pedestrian safety". Too bad because I too love the look of pop-up headlamps and was fortunate enough to own 4 cars with them (1st gen Acura Integra, 1985 Trans Am, 1985.5 Porsche 944 and 1994 Porsche 968).

  • @bronxboyXXX Very True.

Pop up Headlamps really are fantastic, & so many present day Cars (the new Lancia Stratos for one) would look much better with them.

They also often had.have a Practical use too rather than just asthetic

(Some Supercars like the "Adams Probe 16" were too low to the Ground for Conventional Headlamps to be effective).

What the official name for the type of Headlamps used on the "Jaguar XJ220" or "Vector W8" are though i'm still unsure (Shutter rather than pop up in action)

  • My Dad had a used one of these but it always needed at least $1,000 in repairs... But good memories when i was in kindergarten reaching up for my seat belt with the scent of "New car smell" tree hanging from the mirror :-)

  • Guess Top Gear got no cars to work on, and decided to play around with an old 944 from the junkyard!

  • @Jobyjose333 and it still smokes most 4 cly cars on the road, even 20+ years old and bone stock. Of course it is hard to find one that is stock and those smoke most 8cyl on the road.

  • @toddk911 True!! Very!!!!

  • I might be getting one of these for about 300 dollars (nearly 200 pounds). It's not a turbo, but hell for 300 bucks, I can't pass it up.

  • I stood next to that very car at the MPH show, still had that rocket launcher on it lol.

  • @wolfyys

im going to the mph show next weekend :)

  • agreed pop up headlights should return

  • the turbo on this car is racist

  • @nitrojoe9 what do you mean?

  • @hollaatyaboy12 it has a kkk turbo

  • @hollaatyaboy12 the kkk is a white supremacist group that lynched and abused african americans.

  • @nitrojoe9 I know that, but is Clarkson racist?

  • @hollaatyaboy12 no just the turbocharger lol

  • @nitrojoe9 omg i'm retarded. it took me way too long to figure that out haha

  • he could had just give the car to me:O?

  • Clarkson's great. I really like all the disclaimers at 2:00 - 2:30. How right he is.

  • lol 5:14

  • is this the first model from 1980 or is it the upgraded version from late 80 early 90?

  • 7:42 Not a Routemaster! Damn it, Clarkson, I was with you until then!

  • @JonathanDP81 Agreed, he should have blown up one of those ghastly Overseas made Box's that deface the Roads today, some of which i swear must have no suspension at all!! (given how much they shake & rattle about, & how they somehow do so more than the Leyland & otherwise built stuff of my childhood ).

The "AEC Routemaster" is without doubt one of the only decent Bus's history has ever given us.

  • this car is astonishing!....even the non turbo one is fast.

  • @joeaccord23 No it isn't.

0-60 in 9 seconds isn't fun. I mean, my car 944 does run it better than 9 seconds after a tune up and having now been 25 yrs old. But by no means is the N/A fast...

  • @BBQPeanut 9 seconds?? We clocked mine sneaking in jussssst under 8 seconds. If I gave a margin of error then lets say just over 8 if you want, but the cars factory original no mods. 1984 model. Anything that gives me 7.x secs I'm *more* than happy with.

  • @Xyphoe My 944 manual says 9 seconds... mine does it in 7.2 though...

  • Hahahaha "Wank" :)

  • love the 944, its such a drivers car. Although u could buy probably a nissan skyline with a better interior and sound system and stuff, i just dont think it offers the same experience on the inside as the porsche and thats what matters.

  • @subzerostorm There's also a little Porsche 944 respect when you see another 944 on the road.

Have to agree though, the experience in a 944 is amazing. Even though the sound system is balls. I would know. Mine is stock, and the cassette deck sucks. =P

  • @BBQPeanut

lol dw mate my sound system was stock and ive now been in the process of switching my sound system over. My car is just sitting in the driveway for the past week with old wires running everywhere. Ill probs have to pay someone to do it eventually. Ive got an s2 cab, what have you got?

  • @subzerostorm Just a 85.5 944 N/A...

  • @BBQPeanut surprisingly once you put an aftermarket deck on, the speakers sound great! i might have the upgraded sound system option in my s2, i dont know, but it was night and day difference between my kenwood deck and the cassette:)

  • @hamronD73 my car is stock.. so a lit up deck might look bad... trying to find a decent one that wont make my car look horrible.. =P

  • 7:43 run over the Pilsbury dough boy with a double decker bus

then he won't be laughing so much

  • Who would have thought, Top Gear used to be about cars, now its about blowing shit up.

  • Porsche 944, Check

    Drain pipes, Check

    Sigaret lighter, Check

Does some1 know where to get some of those rockets?

    this is classic!

  • i have a porsche 944.. and i am going to make into a race car i am going to put a v8 engine and turbo in.. iam also looking to pimp it out

  • @ballisticblaster23 There is a company in Rancine Ohio that I bought all the bits and pieces for mine!

  • LMFWAO!!! I have to get this DVD. XD

And yes it is such a beautiful car -- I miss my S2 damnit!

  • Im thinking about getting one of these, theyre everywhere, theyre under $3000, and I could go around telling everyone I drive a porsche. Anyone experienced one of these? are they useable as a regular car or do they end up being one of those cars you have to baby just to keep running? would I be able to use this as a daily driver?

  • hahaha

  • LOL

  • only in britain....

  • they might lable him a terrorist

  • hahaha "a big thumping 2.5 liter" englishmen....

  • Not So Convincing Scientists In Shorts!!

  • that car is sexy

i wonder if i can get it as my first car

most are pretty cheap im guessing?

  • @ItsThatAznGuy yeah theyre very cheap. the insurance im sure is pretty expensive id think though

  • @ItsThatAznGuy not cheap to maintain..

  • "missle lock, FOX 1!!!"LOL

jeremy clarkson, fulfilling his boyhood dream!

  • hahaha best :P

  • name of the song at 4:10 ??

  • @lamerdude44 You are talking out of your ass. You seem to lack a lot of experience (atleast I can't see any in your comments/homepage). You are 16 and repeating the bs someone else bs'd you about. I already pegged you for a novice talking nonsense before I scrolled it down and read it all. Everyone said ignore your comments and move on. Goodluck with your parents money.

  • which Season of Topgear was it? and which Episode?

  • @resal3000

Its from his DVD. Jeremy Clarkson "Thriller" of 2008.

  • @resal3000 If memory serves this isn't from "Top gear" itself but from one of the many BBC Motoring Videos that Clarkson has made over the Years.

The only problem is that i do not know which one specifically this clip is from.

  • @resal3000 Oops, didn't see on00jh2's response, my bad.

  • i want that porsche

  • My grandpa has a 944. Its still sitting in his garage collecting dust. Hes in a nursing home now. We dont know what were going to do with it. Were going to have to sell it eventually.

  • @umahuma4 umm ask him for it lolzz thats wutd id do anyway

  • phhhh.. we dont have the money to put premium gas in that thing. Although it would be preety sweet for me to drive a porsche to school my junior and senior year. Thats sure to get me some respect.

  • it wouldnt take premium gas enless you wanted to use it. and yes i drove my 944 to school my last 2 years in school and it definately earns respect especialy leaving the parking lot and flying down the road, the mustang kids lol plenty of them keep ther mouths shut

  • yeah, mustangs have started making a comback lately, but now there are enough of them on the road that Its preety much just another car on the road. You dont see to many Porsches, so It would be intersting to see what peope would say.

  • yep exactly, im wantin a 86 turbo a guy has im hopeing this job works out for me and i get the beast, needs a little work but i have plans for it :D mustangs are everywher here, but when im in the parking lot at walmart i can here kids say whoa thats a porsche and people just watch me drive by while im on the backroads goin by the golf course...you cant help but be happy driveing a porsche

  • I went to France once, my tour group was shocked that there were so many porsches driving around.

  • fix it .drive it.

  • Well it hast been driven in like 4 years. So its probably ok, but the gas is probably bad in it and could use a wash probably

  • how much?

  • I have been driving 944 Turbos for about 10 years now. All I can say is you will never find a better 80's marque with better handling and more potential from nothing more than a DME chip and FPR. I have cruised mine at 145mph for miles on end in Nevada and still average 23-24 mpg on a fun run where I'm flogging it. The key to any old watercooler is doing your own repairs or it will suck you into a black hole.

  • The 944 is an amazing car! I own one and it is crazy fun to drive. Amazing balance, great handling, good fuel mileage too. And the best part, I bought it a few months ago for $2000

  • comment and tell me what you think about this for a first car i am highly considering it

  • @tristandejoy i was too, but don't bother. i'm 16 years old, own a mazda 6 now, and was considering taking one of these on as a second car, you can pick up a decent one for $6,000. don't do it. the bottom line is that these cars require a shit load of maintenance. new clutches are about $3,000. if the timing belt hasn't been replaced every three years (which for $6,000, it's rare that it would have been) you've had it.

  • @coolerdude44 UNLESS you do a v8 conversion, which can cost you close to nothing and you can do it in your own garage (I did) with the right tools of course. You can find all of the manuals online, and very easily at that. The results? a little more gas money out of your pocket, a little more insurance to pay (maintenance costs will be low of course) and a car with over twice as much horsepower as the stock version.

  • @MRENDD ... i like the car, i'm not interested in ruining it.

  • First of all, a 944 clutch isn't 3k. Not unless you buy it from Porsche and have them install it for you, in which case, you're an idiot. Same goes with the timing belt. If you can do maintenance yourself, you can save yourself a lot of money.

  • @ninjagod1337 how many people can do their own maintenance on a 25 year old porsche?

  • Anyone who can wield a wrench and doesn't have their hands growing out of their ass. Car maintenance isn't rocket science, even if it is a Porsche.

  • @ninjagod1337 W3rd! These older models and the iconic air-cooled 911's make them more appealing to the DIYer, doing the work yourself makes having a Porsche a reality for some of us. It's the beauty of what Porsche engineering and ingenuity started off to be that continued on with the 924/944/968. The Poor man's Porsche, the affordable daily driver car that can be fun on the road and on the track. Of course there's bad apples here and there like any car but a well taken care of one will last.

  • @ninjagod1337 Would this make a good first car?

  • @josheskimo I wouldn't get one as my first car, no. Get a Miata. They're dirt cheap, run forever, enormous fun, parts are cheap, and the online community is enormous.

  • @ninjagod1337 Funny you should say that, these cars are cheaper in NA form than a damn Honda Civic. The turbo is the same one from a 930, which makes it expensive to upkeep. Plus, like the Miata, there is a spec racing class for them in the States!

  • @josheskimo i say it would, its a 4 seater (good for insurance) its a porsche (ppl will think you have money) it looks damn good, its rwd (good for learning how to drive in bad condtions) nd best of all. No one else will have one at ur high school

  • @coolerdude44 I did the clutch on mine.

  • @coolerdude44 You're 16 years old, and you don't realize the fun of driving a RWD car, nevertheless one that handles like the 944. You have much to learn about driving. But you're 16, your parents bought you a Mazda 6, and that's a much better car for stuffing into a tree, than a 944. Don't endanger another 944. They're a wonderfully fun car to drive, just hold off on getting one for a few years.

  • @coolerdude44. your costs are rather ridiculously exaggerated, and while the 944 is costly to maintain, it's not going to cost 3,000 for a fucking clutch...more like 1200. timing belts need not be replaced every three years, but must be retentioned every 15,000 miles, which can be done yourself if you're willing to buy the necessary tool. The timing belt itself should be replaced every 60,000, which is a LOT more than three years unless you're putting retarded tons of miles on the car.

  • @ZakTheRipper18 i've spoken to other owners, and that's what they've told me.

  • i know this car is probably the best handling car in the world, looks fantastic, and is cheap. i'm still enticed by one of these. but as a first car? don't do it. a first car needs to be reliable, something we purists need to learn sooner or later.

i'd suggest to you, buy a nissan 300zx, toyota supra, or nissan 350z. all can be had for very cheap nowadays, are newer than the porsche, and require far less money/maintenance.

  • purist??? your 16. you dont know anything about driving

  • @wafflecopter3 and what are you? a troll, that's what, just looking to start an argument. i've been able to recite every fact about a car since i was 13, (for the record i'm 17 now) and i've driven well over ten cars since i was twelve.

i'm 17, but i'm more passionate about cars and performance driving than most everybody in this 55 mph country we live in. so why don't you take your trolling and shove it up your ass.

  • @coolerdude44 there not that bad little buddy, if you find one with a good service history and a passionate owner, you have a reliable, good car. Ive taken many newer cars on the street in my s2, simply because my power to weigh ratio surpasses most new cars, 2900 pounds to 210 hp with 208 ft pounds of torque with handling to embarrass any new car, except maybe for ferraris and lambos :)

  • Do it. Do it, do it, do it!! I've bought a 928 S2 as my first car, and I'm hugely satisfied with my choice :) And that is a shitload worse than the rather reliable 944 to maintain. No problems so far, going on 6 months - maybe I'm just lucky..

  • @tristandejoy NO, you're going to crash, and that'll be one less 944. Get something that's safer, and not a classic.

  • That's such a beautiful car. I'm looking into getting one I just hope that the quality is better than the price.

  • @iZ28LS7 There great quality of these cars are gems. I've read reviews and all of the ones i;ve seen are positive.

  • F that. I m installing a Katyusha arsenal on my 944 convertible. Then we'll have some REAL fun.

  • I always thought mine was fully loaded. Were rocket launchers a dealer added option? Top Gear seriously needs to come to the United States. Anyone know where I can find the continuation of this?

  • Classic car. :D Happy days.

  • I miss pop up headlights. they make cars look soo sexy. Nowadays everbody is running to get bright ass halogens or neon purple light 2 blind you and confuse you while coming up from your rear.

  • hmmmm

maybe i should turn ym porsche 944S into a rocket car too huh

  • my friend has a 944 but its Automatic non turbo, and its really slow.lol. My 08 Honda Pilot smoked it!!!!!. but its a Porsche so i guess its a good car.haha

  • Then your friend doesnt know how to drive because I could beat a honda pilot with a moped.

  • @ferrarif43012 It was a horrible mistake to buy the automatic, first off. The N/A 944 didn't make much power anyway. You take you're friend on, going into a corner, and see who comes out first.

  • hello out there...

does anybody knows the instrumental music part at 4:09 until 4:32 ....at the end of the video they named the extreme music library, but i did not find this kind of music there! it sounds like could be part of any soundtrack... information would be great

  • only buy a 944 that is porache 944 owners club certrified. my dad bought one and quite simply it was beautiful. 944 S2 in guards red full prosche service history and it went like the clappers. Im getting a turbo as my next car. Can NOt wait lol.

  • if you have any mechanical knowledge then you will buy one that isnt porsche owners club and fix it and save thousands of dollars like we did.

  • Rocket Launchers. Yet another reason I want to get a 944.

  • there is a porsche 944 for sale down the road from me and it has the complete light bar across the back but instead of porsche shadowed into the light it has 944 wat year is this porsche and does any one no anymore about it

  • its an add on. none came with the full bar,
