I highly doubt you've ever had an iPhone in your hands since theres only three in existence. As for the beta test story, the iPhone is so pre release at this point that Apple wouldnt even think of letting the public see all of the features. Jobs didnt show you that some of the apps were represented with jpegs because they havent been written yet or that the video capture was very poor because it was so rushed for Macworld.
