  • our country today has regressed even more the the ones this film represents. the rednecks were in the deep south in those days. the rest of the country enjoyed a progressive and open sociaty.today the rednecks are coast to coast in conservative republican and tea party voters.they march lockstep to the will of boss limbaugh and his underlings.like nickleson said in the film"they talk about individual freedom but a free individual frightens them" the cafe folks, the guys in the truck put on suites

  • the leslee speakers make this song something special.mcguinns 12 string sounds just out of phase which is perfect! great tune.

  • I really think Hopper should of chose this Byrds song for this scene of the movie. It's better suited than the song they chose from the Holy Modal Rounds. If you want to be a bird. Even though they used "I wasn't born to follow" when Hopper and Fonda were riding through the moutains, and skinny dipping with the two girls from the colony. They should of cut it from one of those scenes and used it here. Good job,.. and great editing. Thanks for posting this.

  • To hell with the libertarians and mainstream media , Fox News, and whatnot... this song needs to be our National Anthem.

  • Did you know; Jack was a last sec replacement for Rip Torn, who bailed on the movie when he seen the infighting and drugs going on. This was the only movie where karen Black would not use as a credit. At the end they discovered a scene was left out. It was the campfire one where Peter says we blew it. The two bikes were not in the background, why, two had already been wrecked, the other two had just been stolen and nobody knew where the hell they were.

  • the sixties and seventies were great down the coast at Whitley Bay, great times great people.

  • I will want die beneath the white cascading waters :)

  • All the fantastic landscapes and the happenings in the name of peace - and the absolute opposite -intolerance - the world lost its innocence - if it ever had one.

I was born in 1952 and a teen in the sixties - and God, would I love the hippie culture to show itself in our selfish, materialistic world, but I guess it would only lead to more bloodshed.

Bless all of you who try to give the world some love every day - and good luck!

    Greetings from The Kitbonn

  • @TheKitbonn No, TheKitbonn. I don’t think the world have ever been innocent. Yet we all born innocent, but then it seems that the world transform us into intolerant people, at least some of us. Take care of yourself. Sophya

  • Logic: zero people known what they are about? Greatest movie ever. USA Heather from Alabama where are you, SA Adelaide French lessons?

  • I wasn't born to follow. I am a free Man, the EEU gave me my freedom.

  • BIKES BUILT BY GRIZLEY ADAMS ACTOR .

  • Going through school and college right now, ive had to sit through numerous talks about injustice, intolerance and coexistance usually with a movie to follow up with it as an example of these things in our society. It always amazes me that they never choose this one, as I cant think of a better one to show unfair persicution and intolerance. One of the greatest movies of all time, easily best soundtrack. Ride on Captain America, Ride on <3

  • @dpoland america went conservative like the rednecks in the cafe scene in the film....to bad.

  • @dpoland

Im not from America, but in Europe shit got tighter too. Doesnt bother me, adventure is still to be found in many places. Just make sure you got the balls to say FUCK YOU IM GOING MY OWN WAY

  • @MrSNORHOOFD Indeed, Mr. Snorhoofd.Uit Nederland by the way? Billy asked it to the hippy they picked up the road too. He wouldn't answer. I'm from a city is all he said. In the movie they showed hippies could be intolerant too. That's why Billy was so dispared to go away from the colony.

    My favorite movie ever; :-)
