  • hey any tips on shiek and zelda ? any tips would be welcome

  • @alexhackett93 learn the sweetspots on Zelda's forward and backward aerials. You can move in any direction with their teleports be unpredictable. If you play with items up b is also helpful for getting to a good item fast and getting out of the way of some final smashes. Never forget the Naryu's Love reflects projectiles. Din's Fire has a larger hitbox than it appears and you can control it's speed with forward and backward this helps catch dodge happy enemies. Hope that helps a little

  • RAAAGEQUIT!

  • How come the b-air raises sheick into the air a bit?

  • @winter4ice

    First, its Sheik, not Sheick.

Second, KDJ is using his jump right before he b-airs so it looks like as if he rises up into the air.

  • @CharlieChan29

Ok, I've found it out. It's not just the just, if you tilt the joystick 45 degrees for a back-air you'll get that extra boost into the air as you see in the video.

You can also do it for the forward-air. So basically, it's not just the jump.

  • Being slow doesn't make the game easier. It makes it use a different set of skills. The emphasis on taking advantage of attack ranges and attack speeds it increased greatly.

In Melee, it was more about being quick and using mindgames.

  • dark vs dark.... COOL! :D

  • ouch.. i can see why so many melee fanboys h8 this game...it IS SLOW! oh well at least B+ isnt this bad

  • this looks so dumb compared to melee... slow motion, cool.

  • dude you are so right

  • nuro is fuckin terrible

  • Nice EdgeGuarding!!

I can't really do it that well yet!

  • wow, feb 26? The game was brand new not even a month old. Already doing shiek up b ledge cancels, he is freakin good that KDJ

  • everyone like kdj azen and ken in my opinion is r better in melee than brawl

  • I see that KDJ is rape in both melee AND brawl.

  • its sad to see how slow this game is compared to melee

  • nuro sucks compared to kdj

  • That was awesome and funny how KoreanDJ kept on knocking nuro down in midair and hanging on to the ledge so he would fall! Mad skillz!!!

  • i enjoy watching kdj play melee. and even though brawl nerfed sheik, he still somehow manages to make her enjoyable to watch.

  • blasphemymaster <--- this guy is officialy a faggot for being gay

  • Im kind of annoyed at how they nerfed Sheik in this game but KDJ still seems to be doing pretty well.

  • lolol

    no contest

  • y are people posting on a vid that came out in february? wheres all the kdj vids at now?

  • Cuz I mean the aim of the game isn't anything like trying to keep your opponent from getting back onto the stage or anything.

  • You must not know how to play this game.

  • You must not know how to play this game.

  • And you're blue.

  • ....your a fucking moron

  • I don't think it's cheap. It's how you win, simple.

  • best ending ever

  • Even Pit loves KDJ.. listen how many times he quickly yells "Korea!" when he smashes. Lol.

  • melee for pros.......

    brawl for beginers........

it is easy to understand. i think the fight was to easy and people who are good using lucas could proboly win with ease...

i like this game but only for fun and not for competition anymore like it used to be with melee. if you mind go look for some videos of melee pros doing amazing combos...

    and that is basicly it.......

  • What Melee did is add new features to the original, and make it the most difficult game to master out there. Brawl took out some things, and added other things(hugging, gliding, multiple air dodges) that made it equally as competitive. Brawl is for Melee experts who played Melee for six years, and maybe wanted something new to master.

  • Hmmm, anyone can learn (I said LEARN, not MASTER, but still...) how to play gay characters in Brawl and spotdodge in a month, unless they completely lack skill or don't know how the game works (camping and dodging fest) =/

  • i finaly came with a possible tier list but it is not complete. i can say lucas is one of the ones i consider a very strong character and zelda too. this game is lot easier and playing it to much brought me to understand it more deeper. one thing i can say is that melee is for real combo time and brawl is for people who literaly are not good at melee and all that fast timing.just look at the vidoes of melee pros they are very damn fast!!!!!

  • There are way too many things to consider to make a tier list. There could be some kind of exploit(like Wavedashing in Melee) that will be found in several months. Making a complete tier list takes a group of professionals and years.

There is no possibly way you could've come even close to making a tier list. The character that seems the worst(Capt. Olimar probably, at this point) could easily come out on top in tiers.

  • WTF, dude, Olimar is probally one of the best character in Brawl. He is one of the few characters that have something that resembles combos, and you gotta remember, this is BRAWL, a game that has no combos. He has attacks that are just way too fast and powerful (smash attacks anyone?) and excellent to rack up damage without being punished (like if there was someone that isn't Snake or MK that can punish LOL) such as u-air and forward-B. The only thing that stops him is his crappy recovery.

  • There are MANY ways to combo in Brawl. Try playing Brawl competitively, rather than automatically try convincing yourself that Brawl has no combos because it's too hard.

Brawl has MANY ways to combo, and only more will be discovered as the days pass.

Capt. Olimar looks like a very low tier character to me(I could be wrong), because him and Pit are the cheapest characters(people that haven't played before can spam Pikmin) and he has a bad recovery, not to mention he is slow and can barely combo.

  • LOL, way to first tell people to play competitively, then base your personal ratings on how "cheap" a character is. Next you'll be saying that Snake is bad because he's so slow and Meta Knight's too light.

Combos are limited in Brawl. They're there, but there's absolutely no chance of performing any dynamic combos - you're set to your character's BnBs.

  • shut the fuck up faggot

  • Actually I play all Smash Bros games competitively and barely anyone who I've played is able to beat me in Brawl. And I have played many (very) good players. And Olimar does have "combos", such as d-throw > u-smash/u-air -> u-air. And there isn't such a thing as cheap characters, especially when your definition of it is a character that is able to spam projectiles. And there aren't MANY ways to combo in Brawl, because all "combos" can be DI'ed out of, and if not, many of them can be airdodged.

  • However little skill you might think it takes to spam attacks, it takes even less skill to call it "cheap" and somehow think it makes the player worse than you when you're still losing to such a straightforward and predictable tactic.

  • dude you're an idiot...

  • nuro fag xD

  • k well korean dj used my friend to get good at brawl anyways, since he and i modded our wiis, korean dj went to my friend dorm and would play, bu after winning the first tourny, never even thanked him... im damn sure my friends ike could keep up with him... and as far as skill is concerned its just as difficult because the shadowboxes and dimensions are all different than melee, the pro secrets of melee were merely just prinicples of animation that

  • were removed from this game, ever wonder why they added slipping/tripping? tournments wont be domiated by the same people every time anymore, and newer people get a shot at tasting victory...

  • so minus a few disgruntled ex pros/ semi pros (which i was semi-pro) i would definitely imaginemjority of you agree with the removal of the "magical moves of melee"...sigh... i do ms luigi's wavedash tho that was fun...

  • wow, SHeik is awesome!

  • You do realize KoreanDJ was one of the best players in Melee right?

I know its a different game, but still

  • Does that matter? If this was a Melee match I would scoff in his face like you did... but this is Brawl. It doesn't take nearly as much skill (compared to Melee) to play it. I think Brawl is a game where anyone with decent skill can beat a Melee expert. Quite sad really (although I'm not saying this particular person can beat KDJ. Just talking about possibilities).

  • You brought up some good points, and I agree, someone who could never have hoped to beat an expert in Melee, could now do it in Brawl. What I was trying to convey was that since he was an expert, that gave him some experience, for things like reading movement patterns, strategies, and even something like faster fingers

My comment was more directed at that one person, because I've found that usually, people who brag they can "beat those guys", tend to suck

  • I agree with your points too. I was better than most people around me when Brawl just came out (although most matches were closer than I would've liked). Anyhow I do feel your irritation when people make such comments. I was always amazed in how well KDJ played his Shiek/Fox back in Melee. It's a shame. Really.

  • While I admit the games are pretty different from each other, I think saying that Brawl takes less skill to play is complete bullshit. I've been playing it for quite awhile and just because Melee was faster paced and there were more "glitch" type moves doesn't really make it more challenging. Just because it's harder to learn how to do the moves doesn't make it require more skill, just more time.

  • In no way am I bagging you: What is your definition of skill?Because last time I checked the dictionary, pressing buttons in rapid succession and incredible timing is considered a skill. So there is obviously a MUCH larger challenge on the physical side (reaction/muscle-wise).I'm pretty sure most can agree with that. Regaurding ATs, whether to call them a "glitch" or not is debatable. Anyhow these ATs made new windows for a variety of moves; which I think added on to a more complicated mindgame.

  • The mind game part is debatable so I'm not going to argue (it's only my opinion). I just wanted add: doing actual combos and DIing accordingly is what I consider skillful too :p

  • That Pit was not camping nearly enough...

  • 1:00-1:08 is good as combos go in brawl :P

  • For all you who don't know, that was KoreanDJ who was one of the best sheiks in the world in melee.

  • Casual elitist or just plain faggot, you decide

  • very good sheik

  • FRIKAZOS

  • Very nice Sheik. Would've liked to see more running up smashes, and up and b as attacks.

  • awesome match :D

does sheik have a lethal recovery? O.o cant wait untill i get this game :D

  • lmfao, kdj is too good. and here i thought sheik sucked and zelda was the key. man that exit was funny

  • In my opinion, that was a very well played Sheik. If that was the creator of this video, then good job =P If not, then you suck.

  • Very nice battle

  • Who was playing pit and dumbass? my 6 year old sister could do better than that. Sheesh

  • omg!!

i was screaming at the damn pit!!!..... relied too much on up-b........dang.... the shiek was smart in hitting the pit during up-b.... very nice

  • Wow, that Pit really needs to learn how to fight in Brawl....

  • that pit his FUCKING HORRIBLE

  • Kdj is average? You are obviously new to the smash community.

  • are you stupid? kdj can make almost anyone look like an idiot.

  • nothing against kdj, but put absolutely sucked, all he did was spam arrows and side-smash.

  • Let's change a friend cord of smash Bros. The possible person please e-mail it

  • The ragedraw at the end made me chuckle.

  • Ahh, KDJ and his insane edge-guarding skills once again

  • that's hella sick.

  • ur terrible at smash lol

  • get off your own dick

  • you could not beat KDJ, you are awful at using sheik, you never will be as good as he is, even as he plays now. he was the best sheik player in tournament play of ssbm in the world, and for good reason too, look up some of the videos. good to see his infamous drop edgeguarding still has a place in Brawl, despite sheiks nerfed Fair.

  • no its not. haha.

  • Nothin against you or anything eradikatus, but there was a reason I posted this on Stage6 & not Youtube (DJ didn't want it on Youtube), but w/e...

  • Oh, sorry. Should I remove it, then?

  • Naw, no biggie. I did post it on a public site & all, so it's cool. =) You have class to even offer to remove it though, so I give you props for that. =)

  • Haha, kdj is still the master of overkill, man he's agrresive <3

  • Yea after playing Brawl, I was planning to have Shiek as one of my secondaries. Shiek isn't as bad as people say she is after her nerf

  • nice sheik playing kdj!

  • H2YL, pit

  • thats tight he can use his chain as a grapple!

  • Nice job by DJ. But would this combo also work (mid damage may be needed) f-tilt to Upsmash?

  • Wow KDJ's shiek is still good even after the massive nerf shiek had in Brawl.

  • nerf?

  • I think it's more of a change than a nerf.

  • Then I think you need to think more =/

  • It is a nerf, Atleast the Fair thing is. That was sheiks main kill move, now it is extremely hard to kill people.

  • yea it is a nerf, she doesnt ko that good n e more and the slap is bad now....:(
