Back in the day when wrestling was great! I wish they would come full circle and reflect them days of the 80s! Better story lines and lots more action then todays wrestling!!
this in tha' day was da' shyt!!! mid night experss, rock&roll express, road warriors, fabulous Free birds, Steiner brothers,RIP von Erichs, dam!!! jim coronet, jj dillon, 4-horse-man!!! brings tears to my eyes that the Era of top notch talent/tag teams like that are over...
The Chase/Midnight Express theme is used for the intro to the Coast to Coast Am night time radio show. it's been used since the start of Coast To Coast am.
@darkwlf151: He was. Condrey disappeared without letting Corny, Eaton or anyone else know. He showed up in the AWA with Randy Rose as the Midnight Express as members of the Dangerous Alliance with Paul E. Dangerously and "Adorable" Adrian Adonis. Paul E., Condrey and Rose showed up in the NWA in late 1988.
I only came here to see how bad the Wrestling version of this tune was while searching for the ACTUAL Midnight Express Chase Theme - I'm actually pleasantly surprised how good it sounds. Thanks for the upload :)
I feel sorry for people who are wrestling fans now, who are forces to have all that Cena and Batista shit... If you wernt a fan in the 80's then you missed out on something that was amazing
The Road Warriors The Midnight Express The Steiner Brothers The British Bulldogs Arn anderson & Tully Blanchard The Hart Foundation Demolition The Rock N Roll Express The Freebirds The Nasty Boys The Samoan Swat Team
@Interscope100 After appearing at Halloween Havoc 1990, the Midnight Express split up when Jim Cornette and Stan Lane left the WCW, due to conflicts with Jim Herd and booker Ole Anderson. Bobby Eaton decided to stay with company. Jim Cornette then opened Smokey Mountain Wrestling and Stan Lane teamed up with Tom Prichard as the Heavenly Bodies.
@DIESEL0759 You only half right - this is not the Midnight Express theme recorded by Georgio Morodor for the film - it's a great knockoff though, really brings back memories.
probably the most under-rated tag team ever. had they been in WCW when it was getting major exposure in the 90's or in WWE, it might not have been that way.
@azariah15 under-rated = all talk of greatest tag teams start with LOD ( true ), Steiners ( arugable ) R&R (Rolling stones longevity award ), Hart Foundation ( good but most over-rated )...then they'll throw in the Horsemen, Briscoes, and a few others from the 60's and 70's, just to round it out. the '80's - '90's were the Golden Age of tag teams, and the Midnight Express was a big part of that.
back when tag teams meant something to wrestling. never again will there be teams like Midnight Express, demolition, rougeou brothers, rock n roll express, doom, skyscrapers the list goes on and on. this was the best time to be a wrestling fan as i think the best era was 1988 to 1994 and that is counting both wcw/nwa and wwf.
@suspiriafanargento19 Man you said It I remember when we watched the Road Warriors take on the Steiner Bros I didn't know what to think it was like Superman vs Superman!
Man this is great Beautifull bobby eaton and sweet stan lane byfar the greatest tag team of the 80'S man this is what true wrestling was like back in the day great video but even better tag team.
Beautiful Bobby?Gimme a break he was and still is so ugly and never saw a gym in his life Jim Cornette was in better shape than him.Had no mic skills most overated wrestler of all time!
If I remember correctly, the original chase theme was used at one point. I assume there was some copyright issues that forced the NWA to use a faux version of it. But this version of the song was still very good. One of my favorite tag teams of all-time!
@TravJam317 you know, actually I think that they used the original AFTER this version. I think they had the money to actually purchase the rights when the NWA became the WCW to the original. I say this because I heard this version on the Starcade 88 ppv, but on capitol combat 90 its the original version.
@ElNeilo It must be new Generation Marks who been watching wresting in 2009. I know about Tradition and it was in the Form of National Wrestling Alliance. "Tradition Never Dies."
Butiful bobby is one of the midnight Express wrestlers and i work with his son here in texas I get to hang out with him at his place but me my self am a wrestler as well
this was not the original theme. the original was performed by a musician named georgio mirauder. the above picture is not even the original members. on the right is beautiful bobby eaton. on the lft i have no idea, but its not loverboy dennis condry
One of my 80's dream matches would have pitted the Midnight Express & the Hart Foundation vs. the British Bulldogs and Rock N' Roll Express in an 8-man elimination tag. I could only imagine the all sorts of awesome that match would be!
They had Rocket launcher, flapjack, divorce court (nasty arm breaker-done to Ricky Morton on the arena floor when Tully Blanchard and Arn Anderson won the tag titles after the Midnights interferred), double goozle and so many more. Jim Cornette was the best manager back then. I agree though I would have loved to see the Midnight Express vs The Hart Foundation.

@MrDingaloo Damn what's with the pro wrestling hate? As long as the reason for hating it isn't because it's "rehearsed". You one of those wrestling is fake guys huh? No way!!
The Tag Team that got me into pro wrestling in the first place....I always thank them for putting on such awesome matches, and for making a fan out of me. Midnight Express rocks....
Bobby Eaton was the most technically skilled wrestler ever. I remembered back in NWA days (either 89 or 90) after Bobby was attacked by the 4 Horsemen, he got a black eye; came out on a interview with Gordon Solie, he was so pissied he took it out on the opponents in the upcoming match (a real shoot). During that match I've never seen any wrestler executed with more perfection & precision than B. Eaton, he finished match in little over a minute, I only wish someone has a tape of that match!
@hsulawrence Are u being serious? How was he taking it out on them? Was he just hitting moves and shit harder/rougher? Is this a known incident or is this just what you remember/believe to be true. Not being sarcastic, just wondering. I def do remember when he got jumped by the horsemen. Awesome shit back then. Loved watching NWA.
Worked with Bobby Eaton last night in Harrison, Ar and got the chills when they played this as he accepted his life time achievement award....Only thing better was when i worked him in the Battle Royal...
@bamasaintsteve Yeah and then they actually became a "stable" ala the Freebirds with the addition of Norvell Austin in '81. When they won the AWA Southern Tag Team Titles, they invoked the "Freebird" rule which allowed any combination of two men from the MX to defend the titles on any night. The idea was that their opponents would never know who they were going up against and if one of the MX got hurt the other one could wrestle.
My favorite version is still Condrey and Eaton though.
this is the team that made me wanna watch tag team. They developed moves that alot tag teams didnt offer in the ring. No wonder they held the belts for as long as they did!!!! MIDNIGHT EXPRESS........Greatest Tag Team IN HISTORY!!!!!
I grew up in the 70's and 80's. While others were going gaga over the Rock n Roll Express and Fantastics, the Express were kicking ass. You know for supposed bad guys a lot of fans sure loved them. Go back and see some of the pops they get compared to the faces.
@PatiAmor1 This was a remix after WCW severed ties with the NWA and became more mainstream. They lost the rights to use the Moroder version because of it
@WorldOfDorkCraft Thanks, I was wondering. My older brother didn't even remember this version, just the original. I only remembered this version because I'm younger I guess. Funny. Thanks again for clearing that up.
@10soarxo There is no need for anything besides the world tag titles anymore. Wouldn't have anything to do with the extra belts! Tag team division/Real tag teams like MX are nearly non existent. One of the coolest thing about TNA right now is that they are at least trying to have a tag team div. Beer Money is tight. I'm not a fan of them but the MC Machine Guns are real good wrestlers. They still have a long way to go to get to the glory days of tag team wrestling though haha.
@mbranco24 - You bet!!! at least TNA isnt about BS...WWF has lost its luster in my eyes & they have handled some of their best talent all wrong! I applaud Steve "Sting" Borden for taking a stand like other talented artists for not going there no matter what they were asking. As for talent coming over from WWE ent....just watch their stock trully rise. The last match in TNA for the world title between Sting & Kurt Angle.......EPIC!!!!
@10soarxo U r correct on all accounts my man. I still believe TNA has to step it up quit a bit though to even come close to competing with WWE. Do you know who Kevin Eck is? I think thats how he spells his last name. Anyways, he writes for the Baltimore Sun paper about pro wrestling. I just heard he just got a job working side by side with HHH and is now in charge of recruiting talent or something like that. It was stated that he and HHH want to bring back tag teams.
@10soarxo He has always been a HUGE Beer Money fan so who knows. Maybe he could work some magic and bring Beer Money to WWE. I'd just like to see them get a chance on a big stage so the casual wrestling fan could get to see them. Not to mention I don't think they get enough air time on Impact but if I were in charge half of TNA impact would be Beer Money. I'm a mark for great tag teams as i'm sure u can tell.
the radio show coast to coast am with george norrey uses their original theme. (the one this was based on). i dont know who did it. i wanna say allen parsons, but not real sure about that.
This theme is cool and all, but it's a ploy off of the original version of "The Chase" - this isn't the actual theme from "The Chase".
Similar to how TNA does ploys off of actual songs (Kurt Angle's theme off of "Lunatic Fringe", Traci's off of "Love In An Elevator", and Daniels' off of "Beautiful People")
@halleberrybabydaddy NO. That would be the Road Warriors... But the Midnight Express as a package with Cornette were not far behind...I thoroughly enjoyed booing them whenever they wrestled in Baltimore back in the 80s...
I remember this theme song as a little kid.....this reminds me when wrestling WAS wrestling. Especially tag team wrestling, which is sadly a lost art form today.
I thing if the Midnight Express were to become part of a foursome team then the additions would be DOUBLE A Arn Anderson along with none other than the Nature Boy Ric Flair. An ideal manager for such a team would be none other than James E Cornette or the one and only The Million Doller man. Ted Dibiase.
what a tune this has to be one of the greatest theme tunes of all time and what a tag team one of the greatest tag team of all time and they were good looking too
@randycolvin This soundtrack is similar to Giorgio Moroder's version of the Midnight Express just some of the notes played are in a different order or altered slightly. If you take Nirvana's smells like teen spirit and Diamond Dallas Page's WCW theme or Raven's WCW theme and another Nirvana track Come as you are, they sound similar but to the trained ear it is slightly different. Ravens TNA version of this theme has the intro part of this tune but then breaks out of it
When he was in TNA Christian Cage used evanessence tune My last breath. Most of the theme tunes that sound similar to the original is so that it is not directly infringing copyright, they probably have permission to use it as long as it is not the original theme.
I want this as my a ring tone for my phone, where can i get it at? anyone know? BTW IMO they was in the top 3 ever of best tag teams. but thats my opinion, then again with James E. Cornette as your manager, how can you go wrong, swing batter batter swinggggggg, there goes another racket lol
Whether face or heel the Express was the best. I first watched them in Mid-South Wrestling then WCCW. Bobby perhaps had no equal at being a tag specialist. I remember when the Express took the tag titles from the Horsemen Anderson and Blanchard. That was a classic matchup.
Midnight Express was one of the dopest tag teams ever! That entrance theme used to have me pumped! I would've gave anything to see a Midnight Express vs. Hart Foundation match!
Back in the day when wrestling was great! I wish they would come full circle and reflect them days of the 80s! Better story lines and lots more action then todays wrestling!!

this is the team that made me wanna watch tag team.

Go back and see some of the pops they get compared to the faces.

this is a different version thn Giorgio, which version is this?
PatiAmor1 1 year ago
@PatiAmor1 This was a remix after WCW severed ties with the NWA and became more mainstream. They lost the rights to use the Moroder version because of it
WorldOfDorkCraft 1 year ago
@WorldOfDorkCraft Thanks, I was wondering. My older brother didn't even remember this version, just the original. I only remembered this version because I'm younger I guess. Funny. Thanks again for clearing that up.

What ever happened to the U.S. Tag Titles?? When WCW had them...it was almost a rule to get a shot at the world title to have had THIS title!
10soarxo 1 year ago
@10soarxo There is no need for anything besides the world tag titles anymore. Wouldn't have anything to do with the extra belts! Tag team division/Real tag teams like MX are nearly non existent. One of the coolest thing about TNA right now is that they are at least trying to have a tag team div. Beer Money is tight. I'm not a fan of them but the MC Machine Guns are real good wrestlers. They still have a long way to go to get to the glory days of tag team wrestling though haha.
mbranco24 1 year ago
@mbranco24 - You bet!!! at least TNA isnt about BS...WWF has lost its luster in my eyes & they have handled some of their best talent all wrong! I applaud Steve "Sting" Borden for taking a stand like other talented artists for not going there no matter what they were asking. As for talent coming over from WWE ent....just watch their stock trully rise. The last match in TNA for the world title between Sting & Kurt Angle.......EPIC!!!!
10soarxo 5 months ago
@10soarxo U r correct on all accounts my man. I still believe TNA has to step it up quit a bit though to even come close to competing with WWE. Do you know who Kevin Eck is? I think thats how he spells his last name. Anyways, he writes for the Baltimore Sun paper about pro wrestling. I just heard he just got a job working side by side with HHH and is now in charge of recruiting talent or something like that. It was stated that he and HHH want to bring back tag teams.
mbranco24 5 months ago
@10soarxo He has always been a HUGE Beer Money fan so who knows. Maybe he could work some magic and bring Beer Money to WWE. I'd just like to see them get a chance on a big stage so the casual wrestling fan could get to see them. Not to mention I don't think they get enough air time on Impact but if I were in charge half of TNA impact would be Beer Money. I'm a mark for great tag teams as i'm sure u can tell.

@aberod11 you gotta have sex for the 1st time first ?
cleancutt2001 1 year ago
This theme is cool and all, but it's a ploy off of the original version of "The Chase" - this isn't the actual theme from "The Chase".
Similar to how TNA does ploys off of actual songs (Kurt Angle's theme off of "Lunatic Fringe", Traci's off of "Love In An Elevator", and Daniels' off of "Beautiful People")
But props for this version!

HOly Lou Thesz doing a Hurricanrana.... it's the REAL NWA Midnight Express theme. O_O And not the regular Gergio Moroder version.
WOW! O_O!!

Either they were forced to stop using the theme from the movie or decided to stop paying for the fee to use it.

@halleberrybabydaddy NO. That would be the Road Warriors... But the Midnight Express as a package with Cornette were not far behind...I thoroughly enjoyed booing them whenever they wrestled in Baltimore back in the 80s...

Any views guys?

question... who composed / arranged this remix... i know Giorgio Moroder did the ORIGINAL "Chase" theme...
blozier2006 1 year ago
@blozier2006 YES SOMEONE PLEASE ANSWER THIS. THIS VERSION IS DIFFERENT FROM THE ORIGINAL GIORGIO MORODER "CHASE" THEME.
randycolvin 1 year ago
