Hey people out on youtube i just wanted to let you know this is my great great grandmother so please please make positive comments thanks also for posting a vid of her
@kingcharelsyoung29 ...whoever you REALLY are, you're not a direct descendant of Jeanette MacDonald! She never had a child, except for the one she had aborted when she and Nelson Eddy were doing it behind Gene Raymond's back! Moreover, Gene Raymond (he and Jeanette were married to each other)was gay and they never even consumated their marriage. So, if you're her great great grandchild, then you're the abortion that lived!
used to watch these two on bbc2 on saturday afternoons with my dad, when i was about 14. fell instantly in love with them. thanks for posting, and thanks dad
My gosh, I'm beginning to cry and I'm not ashamed to say it! My parents adored these two greats . . . and I do, also. Love Rose Marie. Love Nelson Eddy and Jeanette MacDonald - what a beautiful pair. They do indeed make beautiful music together....You belong to me abd I belong to you . . . oh yes! Thank you for posting this...bless you.
what an ending, at least for me. so corny, crass and silly but so good that we should have more of this kind and the world would be probably much better.
Today is mother´s day in Argentina. Both my parents loved this song and just listening to it transports me to my childhood . Sweet memories, a little sad but sweet. Thanks for posting from Argentina
Love their songs, their voices, the special chemistry between them: they brought me many moments of musical memories. Thank you, Jeanette. Thank you, Nelson. Hope to see you in the first soprano section in the heavenly choir, Jeanette.
OK. You asked for it. These riding pants were specially constructed to handle the rigours of the Canadian North - including the long distance between porta-johns. By the way, they're also waterproof.
An absolutely stunning duet. They are the most romantic couple in the history of the movies. They had a magical quality that has never been matched by any others. What a shame that Hollywood can only put out tripe now.
@ItsChillyBrrr So what? Whether it's a ceremonial uniform or not, the pants still look ridiculous! Why don't you stop being the "stupid idiot" and stop calling people names for no reason???
I love this movie, but what is Nelson carrying in his riding pants? Extra cellulite? Misplaced buttock enhancements? I know he's happy to see Jeanette, but that's not a gun in his pocket(s).
I bought their taped videos years ago, and I keep them to play when I'm home alone. Hubby doesn't care for their movies! I have always thought they were magic together! Love, Liz Lizzy_Tish
I love the old Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy films and this was one of their best although I can't help feeling that acting alongside Nelson Eddy must have been like playing opposite a solid oak sideboard.....albeit one that could sing. Jeanette was fab!
now I,m watching these lovely movies with my grandchildren. So grateful for the magical talents of these two people who really seemed to adore each other on and off screen. They are an unforgettable pair.
thank you so much for this...prob my favorite scene from any movie ever...everytime i view it, i get chills and i cry my heart out...i just love it...
I love their music so much, but haven't had much success in finding any soundtracks either to download or to buy. Does anyone know how I can purchase their songs? Such as: Pardon Me Madame (RoseMarie), Wanting You (New Moon) and The Way they do it in Paris (New Moon). Help!
the great American Baritone Nelson Eddy, and the Meso-soprano Rise Stevens in the chocolate soldier, 1934, interested in films Eddy, Jeanette MacDonald and other great singers of the time can be written
The reason for the success of the films of yesterday, I believe, is that there was something in all of us -even the most wretched people - that there really was hope for them in this life. All the films projected, especially this one, that all would come right in the end and their was hope for us all.
These two were just magical together. Back when I was a kid, my father used to sing the songs(arias?) these two introduced to millions of Americans during the Depression. How little I appreciated them and the true value and high sentiment the songs revealed.
Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy were the perfect pair on stage. In looks, singing ,and sheer appeal. They may have had their differences off stage, but on stage they were the lovers of their time. She and he are both sorely missed. We have nothing to compare nowadays.
Jeanette MacDonald possesed the most beautiful soprano voice I have ever heard and I've heard many of the great ones. This is a pure female voice with no hint of masculinity unlike some of the other professionals past and present. Also, the clarity and control is outstanding.I only wish I could have been privileged to have heard pecious gem singing live.
I have concerts and films of Nelson Eddy, Jeanette MacDonald, throws jhonfpalacio, Mario Del Monaco, Franco Corelli, Caruso, Alfredo Kraus, tagliavinni, Gigli, Luis Mariano, and many others, interested write to me
I am so glad that I finally discovered youtube and what a treat to find Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy on youtube. I'd like to thank stephenGTV and RestlessRusoaka for posting these gems from days gone by. Jeanette and Nelson have been my idols for many years from the first time I saw them in a movie. Although I have all their movies on VHS, it is nice to come to youtube for the excerpts from their movies. Thanks YouTube and the people who posted these videos.
She's just wonderful! I grew up listening to these two great singers because my Dad was such a great fan. Thanks to You Tube I have been able to introduce my 16 year old daughter to these gems from the past. She thinks that they are wonderful too. My Dad would be so proud! Many thanks for the posting xxx Great memories for me.
Eddy Nelson and Jeanette McDonald were in their souls actually literal TWIN FLAMES in love; that's why their singing of love rang SO true and deep with their fans. We all have a twin flame or other half; when God created us as balls of living fire, He split us into both male & female halves; since then, we have tragically, as the Famed Love Birds' movies goes, in the matter universe, we lost touch with our other self. In this New Age, we are meant to reunite once again as ONE and find TRUE love.
Great romantic song, beautiful voices and control. Compare with contemporary popular music and you'll cry an extra tear for all that which we have lost.
This is another great scene from the movie!!I'm so happy to see that there are other people out there who appreciate old movies like this one. I love this song. Thank you for posting such great scenes from the movie. :)
This movie, this scene is where I fell in love with this couple. They were probably both dead when I saw them as a kid, but they were a great couple with truly great chemistry.
Bravo! I first heard/saw Jeanette and Nelson in my teens, years ago. Forty years later they are still my favorites. I've heard many sopranos but something about Jeanette's voice was special; and Nelson's voice the perfect baritone.
So beautiful, tender and poignant. The perfect ending.
I love the sensitive way that Nelson kisses, holds and carresses Jeanette`s hands in all their films. Sometimes I think he doesn`t realize what he is doing-it is completely an unconscience show of affection. Lorraine
positively agree with you Lorraine. They are truly the epitome of romanticism personified. I have bought this movie and have watched it so many times and each time I get just emotionally carried away, for they seem so real with their expressiveness.
I have read that MGM originally intended a more dramatic ending with an outdoor setting of the lovers singing an echo duet of "Indian Love Call" but for me the ending as it was filmed is perfect. Lorraine
ok this is great except for the pants he is wearing
