On the album, YES its a very great track...on this clip I PITY THE FOOL, just like what GILLAN is doin nowadays....SORRY BUT I'm a graet PURPLE fan but do you think it would be better to keep it the way it was and leave it to TRIBUTE bands that sometimes they do it better, like that PURPLE tribute band from JAPAN who do a note for note cover of DP's graet tracks
underrated???? not by this guy...this song is deep purple's finest work...come taste the band is their greatest achievement...i have it on my turntable right now
Enough with the nasal singing and the antics please. You have such an amazing tone when you just sing using your normal voice..like when you were in purple
Yes....This is a Purple song, but he hasn't been in Deep Purple for over thirty years and he has changed the way he sings since then. He's an incredible singer, I just happen to prefer it when he sings a little more controlled like he did on those old records.
Oh, yes, he still can. Just listen to him on Niacin record where he sings this gorgeous blues "It's Not What it Used To Be" (or some very similar title). He hits that thing with so much power that it knocks my pants off.

One of the saddest things ever is that the Bolin/Coverdale /Hughes /Lord/Paice lineup only made 1 album....
