@GrannySays I live in Goderich, Although they are standing, they are structurally unsafe and currently it is believed 40 percent of the damaged buildings will be taken down. Very unforunate stuff... I have family that lives near Goderich. In fact my mother in sister were visiting them when this happened. The lot of them were going to even be in town when this went down, but someone ended up getting sick.
Both my uncles worked with and knew the one unfortunate man that died, as well.

I was inside coffe culture when this hit. The video shows only a very small portion of the destruction, our SUV was crushed under a ton of bricks that came off the building, The trees around the court house are all ripped apart the windows in the court house and most of the buinesses are smashed. Massive amounts of damage.

im really freaked out because my family and friends go camping at point farms, which is very close to Goderich every year since i was little... we are going next week, and all i can think of is, if we were camping a bit earlier, we would of probably been downtown shopping when that happened... it really freaks me out, I've always felt safe in goderich, and knew the town very well, and now i don't feel safe there, and im constantly wondering which shops survived, and a bunch of other stuff. im c

I hope this town can rebuild itself what a sad event I heard once person died, That person will be remembered. I was going to born here around 30 years ago if my dad accepted the job offer in Goderich but he stayed in his hometown. What a sad day Sunday the 21st of august of 2011 will be remembered as the day that This tornado occurred, and NDP leader, and official opposition leader Jack Layton died from prostate cancer R.I.P. Very unforunate stuff... I have family that lives near Goderich. In fact my mother in sister were visiting them when this happened. The lot of them were going to even be in town when this went down, but someone ended up getting sick.
Both my uncles worked with and knew the one unfortunate man that died, as well.
Meanwhile apparently there was some stuff in Toronto too, which is like an hour from where I am currently x_x

I was inside coffe culture when this hit. The video shows only a very small portion of the destruction, our SUV was crushed under a ton of bricks that came off the building, The trees around the court house are all ripped apart the windows in the court house and most of the buinesses are smashed. Massive amounts of damage.
