It's questionable if Fairey can draw at all. All his images are 'borrowed'. His art is all graphic print process, mostly manipulated with computers, then screens are made for the 2 or 3 the usual colors he always uses , and then his staff prints them. The very first image that got him noticed was a graphic of Andre the Giant that he used without permission and got sued for.
I would like him better if he wasn't such a pill. Does this guy ever smile or enjoy his success?

i give props to him because he didn't let the whole mr. brainwash thing effect him, he kept doing what he did because of his passion and did not try to emulate thierry or anything of that nature in order to get some of the success he just witnessed thierry get. he just acted like it never happened and proved to be the bigger man by continuing to communicate with thierry for who he is and not necessarily his art.

but I agree that Mister BrainWash stole ideas and painted over it without any meaning.The concept behind someones art can't be copied, that's something personal, and I don't think he understands it!
but I'll admit, it was fun seeing all these "hotshots" buying shit from him, spending their money on something that's not real work or concept. and no one can make me think otherwise!

The most hilarious thing about the film, is that the opinions held by fairey and banksy of mr brainwash at the end of the film have shaped the opinions of so many other people. if banksy and shepard fairey had said at the end over the top that mbw was a natural talent and his work was genius, the same people would all be nodding their heads and agreeing. they only think he's shit cos banksy said so, which is probably the whole of the film of the first place.

i give props to him because he didn't let the whole mr. brainwash thing effect him, he kept doing what he did because of his passion and did not try to emulate thierry or anything of that nature in order to get some of the success he just witnessed thierry get. he just acted like it never happened and proved to be the bigger man by continuing to communicate with thierry for who he is and not necessarily his art.

the difference with thierry and shepard fairey is that it took shepard fairey 6+ years to refine his technique. shepard fairey understands art, has ideas and knows how to produce them. thierry just has "ideas" and hired people to create the art. his assistants deserve most of the credit since they're the ones doing all the work. theirry is just a money hungry fake who enjoys giving orders. theirry is everything art shouldnt be.

The only reason I think its not fake is because of Guetta emotional/hyperactive behaviors.They said it in the movie he was there at the right time. I really just think that mbw being all around these guys filming them maked him crazy in a way. Its just crazy french dude whos down to pull out BIG shows. The only thing you do is criticize others and you have no idea what the actual subject matter is about. Talk to any graffiti writer, (other than me since I am what you said so eloquently, "a sniveling child") and they will tell you there are respected street artists and Shepard Fairey is not among them. Art is bullshit! Even fucking Michelangelo or Bernini. Why? Who the fuck looks at a painting or a piece of art and have profound thoughts about anything? You look at it, moan, and keep walking. Life gets you to experience something and that's art. The product of that, your interpretation of it, is not necessarily something interesting to look at.
