3) So bring him incense, gold and myrrh Come peasant, king to own Him The King of Kings salvation brings Let loving hearts enthrone Him. Raise, raise the song on high; The Virgin sings her lullaby. Joy, joy for Christ is born, The babe, the son of Mary.
I'm SOOOOOOO disappointed in this karaoke for these lyrics. "What Child Is This?" has special choruses for each verse. As learned years ago in choir (before all the hymnals dumbed them down), they are:
2) Why lies he in such mean estate Where ox and ass are feeding? Good Christian, fear for sinners here The silent word is pleading.
Nails, spears shall pierce Him through, The cross be borne for me, for you; Hail, hail, the Word Made Flesh The babe, the Son of Mary
According to legend Henry VIII wrote Greensleeves about Anne Boleyn. I find it ironic they've made Greensleeves into a religious song when the original song was all about fuck the church, I'll stick my dick where I like and be in charge of my own church! lol
@XXRiotgirl12 You know, the original's called Greensleeves and it's not religious whatsoever. ._. It was made into a Christmas song waaaaay after it was written. Lol
@SnowWhiteQueen29 You'ze right Greenesleeves is an old Enlish folk song, and it's (as Saf would say) the canonical song for, well, everything. Shakespeare alludes to the Lady Greenesleeves, thus the song must have been at some height of popularity by that time. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand, also agreed, this def. ain't religious it was just rewritten as an x-mas tune back in the late 1800s. Additionally, I have a belly button.
coming to be my favourite Christmas song..in my list... :)
