I'd love to know, did you report this guy to the police and did anything happen? I was just discussing this video with a friend and my guess was that police, reflecting the popular community view, would not give a rat's arse about a cyclist getting run off the road by a guy in a 1 tonne vehicle. I think it's funny that the guy hit the cab with a U-lock to piss him off, and then cried about getting what was coming. What was the point of getting the license plate? @Darkc0w a bus lane can be used for buses, taxis and cyclists, the bus up ahead meant that he had to slow down anway and the 2 other lanes are free. The noise you hear at 57 seconds is one of the passengers hitting the window. You can see his hand move just after.
@Darkc0w I agree. Cyclists are required to use the bicycle lane when one is provided unless it is impracticle to do so, juding by the video, the lane was clear and should have been used. Yes Taxi's can use bicycle lanes for up to 50m to drop off and pick up. The guys bicycle should have have a white light on the front and a red on the back including a red reflector. It makes it difficult for the driver of a car to see a cyclist when they have no lights! In my oppinion the taxi is not at fault.
