Even though the Laws of the Game state you cannot score directly on a throw-in, The Goalie touches the ball before crossing the goal line. Therefore, the ball was immediately active to cross the goal line to result in a GOOD GOAL. Good job referee
It looked like the keeper touched it before it completely crossed over the goal line. Therefore it is a legal goal. However it he didn't touch it, the restart would have been a goal kick. That was a crazy throw though.. haha
this is me in the video. the goalie was a retard and touched it, but i still hit near post from about 45 yards away, so give me some credit.
this throw in is legal, i do it in college. the only time i have been called for it was back when i was about 12 for finishing my throw more than a yard away from the line.
@gmsjr1219 i see that both feet were on the ground and that is the part that i'm not saying is illegal. it is the beginning of the throw that the throw becomes illegal. when a throw-in is started the whole of the ball has to be behind your head and the ball wasn't behind his when he started his thrown-in which made it illegal if he started the ball behind his head then preceded to throw the ball in it would have been legal do you understand why it was illegal now.
@suematsu89 - that's a good point. I had to look at it again to see if it was or wasn't behind his head, (although I couldn't imagine that it wouldn't be - just the mechanics of how a body would propel a ball in that way require that it begins behind the head.)
And in fact it does begin behind his head - if you look carefully at the frames at 0:16 you can see that as he plants his feet he is bending over backwards with the ball behind his head, as he straightens up his arms move forward.
shouldn't have counted as a goal, rule #15 states that throw ins can not count as a goal unless another player at least taps the ball after the throw (you can not throw it at yourself either)
if the ball crosses the goal-line, having last touched an attacking player, without a goal being scored, the correct restart is a goal kick. The same applies for every indirect restart that results in the ball crossing the goal line, whether between the posts and under the cross-bar, or not. So a goal scored from a free kick called for offside, or a goal kick, have the same restart. It gets interesting when an own-goal is scored from an indirect restart by the defender, that results in a corner
I'm sure it's a miscommunication between you and your friend. if you told him that the video showed a kid scoring 'directly' from a throw-in then he is correct - that should be disallowed and the game would restart with a goal kick. However, the goalkeeper touched the ball before it entered the goal, which is what makes the goal legal.
@markisginger ...How can any person who plays soccer, or has any interest say it was not a goal? If you think it wasn't a goal then you should take up volleyball
yes you may not be able to score from a throw in..but if it touches someone else; like how it touched the goalies hands, then it counts because it hit someone else before it went in...sorry to burst your bubble. :P
seriouslyyyy haha can't score directly off a throw in. stupid keeper and stupid coach for not telling him the rules. but the flip throw is legit. but dont use it too much because then you just give up possession lol

For people who can't play the game. Do you see Barcelona doing flip throws?

@suematsu89 Just to clarify - Law 15 - The Throw-In states that "A goal cannot be scored directly from a throw-in."
"Indirect" is defined as when, "A goal can be scored only if the ball subsequently touches another player before it enters the goal." - law 13
Zeroes123 1 year ago
@suematsu89 Its not illegal,as long as both feet are on the ground when thrown, and its over his,its not illegal.

CAN EVERYONE STOP RESTATING THE SAME INCORRECT THING FFS. SCORING DIRECTLY FROM THROW-INS IS AN ILLEGAL MOVE.
BUT AS THE GOAL KEEPER TOUCHED THE BALL BEFORE IT CROSSED THE LINE, IT COUNTS AS A GOAL.
