my 2000 gmc sierra must have the wrong tires lol the tire says max tire pressure is 44 but on my door it says fill to 50 psi so i guess in the morning ill make sure the pressure is 32 to 34 or so
@joeldude76 That means your truck has the incorrect tire type, it has regular street tires, it should have heavy load tires which require more psi. My dads van takes 50 in the front and 60 in the rear tires the last owner had street tires which only took 45psi max which is dangerous to have on a vehicle like that, it could cause a blowout when carrying heavy loads.
@jmoyet they are all terrain tires but im sure they arent right because of that reason. also i have another question i can feel like every detail in the road its not that my truck rides bad because i just put new monroe reflex shocks on and it handles bumps in the road but the rocks an stuff are bad could this be due to not having the right tires on my truck?
@joeldude76 all terrain tires tend to have very rough tread and tend to have that effect of loud road noise and rough drive from the rough tread. shocks are fine its just the heavy tread on the tires. even road tires differ on road noise and ride quality though not as drastic as all terrain tires.
Ya, I'll stick with 42psi on my 225/40/18s. I'll take that extra 2mpg thank you. Tire can handle 51psi, and the typical spongy 32-35psi doesn't cut it for me. I'm pretty sure temperature/load isn't gonna push it over the 51psi limit.
Tired of checking tire pressure? Try Quick Pressure tire pressure monitor caps (available from PSI 26 to PSI 165). Just replace your valve stem caps with the monitors, then the monitor will show green if the tire is properly inflated, otherwise it will start to show red. The monitors are welded, chrome plated brass, high quality. Save gas, save tires, and safer drive.
Alot of people think that you go by the maximum tire pressure. The maximum tire pressure on the sidewall of the tire only means to not inflate it past the maximum. If your tires are overinflated, then you might notice the tread on the center of the tire wearing down. If your tires are underinflated, then you might notice the tread on the edges of the tire wearing down. When your tires are properly inflated, you will have better wet and dry handling as well as a smoother and quieter ride.
The video information was great ! But make sure if you have an accident and the labels are damaged, have them replaced as they were before the accident. The only licensed source other than the manufacturer (if they have them available) is ESCVin.com.
I back up your video 100%!! I have told this to alot of people, and some like to argue. Although it is still ok to fill to the max the tire will allow, it is still better to go by the "recommended tire pressure" for the specific car. Unless you install some tire way different in type and size, the recommended is best. Most passenger cars are in the 30's range, anyways. -BOGAR!
Yeah I forgot add the part about low profile tires and such on the video. If they have low profile tires I heard that they should contact the tire maker about the recommended tire pressure.

Good video man, thanks. I had a flat tire yesterday and just changed the wheel so I'll check the pressure tomorrow probably.
