@concorde232 Yes quite bigger, the Dreamlifter is 71.68 meters long against 56.15 meters for the Beluga, the Boeing "wins" again in term of height and wingspan with 21.54 meters tall against 17.24, and 64.4 meters wide against 44.84 for the airbus.
We live in such a weird society, and I'm not a religious goody two shoes. But we have a video of a modified 747 transport and all you hear is butt fucking and lippo, and tumors, and ugly asses, and the the Beluga is prettier. They're just aircraft designed to haul extra large loads. And the fact the the 747 Dreamlifter is shaped like my cock is just a coincidence! :)
This aircraft was built to transport piecies of the new boeing 787 Dream liner. It actualy transports these large piecies to boeing for final assembly. In reality it hauls a whole plane in it.
they could of used the antonov 225 miyra insted of fannying about for the 787 to be transported it looks like its been on a fatty diet and its so fat ur mums out the legue
hm....dreamlifter....it looks like a nightmare.....is this real???? it looks so....so.....i cant describe.....not like a plane....more like a faulty design
It's planes like this one that I just can't figure out how they get off the ground. I mean look how much bigger the fuselage is compared to the standard 747 wings. Only thing I can figure out is that it must not carry a full load of cargo.
@svscared It carries Fuselage sections and wings for the 787! That is what it was built for, to transport the sections of the aircraft manufactured overseas back to Everett for final assembly. So yes it carries a heavy load! The Airbus Beluga, which is a modified A300 does the same for Airbus!
@tf51d Yes I know that it transports 787 parts to Everett.. My question was how the hell does it fly with that weird design. It seems like it would at least need more powerful engines to make it fly but I'm pretty sure it has the same type as the regular 747.
@2easyftw One more thing. Boeing was founded in 1916. Airbus was founded in 1970 because a bunch of insecure Europeans got all butthurt about always having to fly on American made airliners. Who's copying who? Everything Airbus has ever built has been in response to a Boeing airframe. Just saying. Come on Europe, stop playing around. Leave the aircraft manufacturing to the pro's ;)
@2easyftw Actually its the other way around. The concept for the Beluga came from the Super Guppies, which were modified Boeing C-97J Turbo Stratocruisers (Military variant of the Boeing 377)
@tamaramj The reason this was built, was to transport Plane sections of the 787 Dreamliner to Everett, for final assembly. So this was a necessary requirement for the Dreamliner production.
I saw a dreamlifter taking off at Prestwick Airport , Scotland, (Glasgow Prestwick Airport) at around about 2:20-2:30 pm today, Tuesday 27th April 2010. @scaremenga It wasn't built to carry regular freight! They carry fuselage and wing sections for the 787 to Everett Wa. for final assembly, from it's suppliers around the world. A concept that has been more trouble then it's worth BTW, causing much of the delays the 787 has suffered.
@tf51d Yes, I understand that. What I was wondering was: what the impact that the uhh.. fuselage widening has on the 747 airframe. And whether or not it would be economically plausible, i.e. return profit margins, to sell as a "commercial" freight plane. It's not more trouble than it's worth either, Boeing just needs to get used to it. It works very well for Airbus and should, too, for Boeing. So far it seems that the Dreamliner is Boeing's training wheel(s?). Crash and burn first, improve later
@scaremenga It is a modification of existing 747-400's and as such is only certified for in house service. It's doubtful Boeing will go through the certification process to make it commercially available, although I have read UPS has expressed interest in it.
