I know a lot of people have said you should have left the cat alone....I disagree! You should have helped deliver the breech kitten. I helped my cat deliver a breeched kitten by just very lightly pulling as she pushed and then got the sack off the kittens face quickly. Mom usually begins to clean it right away anyway but, the quicker you can get that sack away from it nose and mouth the better.
From what I've experienced, Cats which get pregnant at a very young age for the first time freak out when they are about to deliver, I think they are still not mature enough to know whats going on lol....my cat just turned 2 when she got herself pregnant...lol she just couldn't wait..
mine was almost one year lol unfortunately the second time she gave birth to 4 wonderful kittens we lost her :((( she was really independent and she was always going out and I think she ate something poisoned :(((( and btw last time she had kittens she still wouldnt let me go lol
You should have let the cat alone by herself, you probably made her even more nervous by hovering all over her. My cat gave birth to 5 kittens while I was at work. You need to let nature take care of itself. You should have stayed out of it. >:(
Dear friend, we did leave the cat alone, she did go to the place she picked to give birth, but during her labor, she came to us crying out for help! we never went up to her! It took nearly 9 hrs, the first and last kitten came out feet first and they were stuck and caused the problem.
Aww that was so sad, could see how hard you were trying for that poor kitten. My cat is due any day now. I'm sooooooooo nervous. This really helped. Thanks.
Cat's usually have a hard time delivering when it's their 1st time. All you gotta do is make sure the baby isn't stuck half way (specially when it's coming out feet first) for too long say a minute or two since cat's natural delivery is to pop out the baby in one go believe it or not. Best thing to do is to take it to the vet. Great care should be taken when trying to help the mother pull out the baby.
No she didn't eat a dead kitten. All new borns including humans have this kidney shaped piece of meat attached to the cord (there is a term for it I forgot). Most animal instincts tells them to eat this kidney shaped meat and to cut off the cord as well while they are at it. Even cows who never eat meat do this as well. This provides them with a lot of essential energy they have lost during labor.
My cat had to be put to sleep today very poorly paw and kidneys had stopped working and was very deteriorated

I almost died when my cat gave birth (it was about two or three hours ago) I'm just so scared that she will reject one of the kittens
ixeatxbabiesxlol 3 years ago
no she most probably won't if it doesn't pass away right after it's born.

Really sad, thought this would have had happy ending or wouldn't have watched it. Not what most of us want to see. Poor cat

Don't worry man, this was the first kitten out of 4 who died, the rest are healthy and happy :)
