the gti def was not stock. my sisters APR stage2 07 mkv ran a 13.7. nice run though for the dub. the s2k needs a better driver. stock s2k's hit 14s all day. a real good driver will hit 13.8-13.9

@99Lezard99 14.6 1/4miles my arse, especially not with dsg as this GTI Edition 30 is. Terminal speed of around 100mph is stock. Tuned GTI Edition 30's do terminals of around 115mph and 1/4 miles of around 12.7secs runing Revo stage 2+ software and mods.

I haven't gotten to love the new GTI yet, yet I've never actually driven one. I can't just get past it's curb weight. You make a hatchback because it's lightweight, but the GTI might as well have been a full sized sedan if it's going to weigh nearly 3300 lbs. And that's as light as they'll get since the next version is the R32, which weighs as much as a bus for the challenged. They need a car with a diet program, with pedigree like the Type-R line. Or do they? Is there something I'm missing?

gti def wasnt stock. i ran a 13.73 with apr stage2 chip, aem intake, and apr full exhaust. and well that guy in the s2000 running a 14.5? ...he probably isnt experienced with a manual tranny. stock s2000's run atleast a 14.1, lower if you have a great driver. all in all 2 very nice cars. period. so DONT hate on either one =)
