Darn it. Why am I just now hearing about this girl. True, she was on "Britian's Got Talent" and I am in America. But I feel so remiss at having missed her debut...
I come from Austria where the melody of this song is coming from: "An der schönen blauen Donau" (The Blue Danube Waltz) of Johann Strauss. Nice to hear it with text sung by a good singer.
Faryl is good but I like Jackie Evancho more (although she is younger). The advantage of Faryl is that she is already a young lady while Jackie is a child (but sings as an old professional, which contrast very hard).
, i told you, it does not matter about the money, record contracts, soon as her sell by date comes she will disappear like the rest. To the establishment its all about class nothing more and going to the right schools like at our governement, most go to oxbridge or eton. There is a massive classs cieling and she is very youg and i fear she is being exploited, but for her training, its nothing compared to the singers in the royal acadmies or the royal northern college of music etc..
i'm not doubting you napoleonnz, but we dont need simon cowell to tell us how ""VERY VERY SPECIAL "FARYL is our own eyes and ears speak for us as an "ANGEL" sings her way to "WORLD DOMINANCE" BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL VOICE. god bless this angel. x x x.
good advice ALLIEM85, pretty face, out of this world voice, the world at your feet, you have it all FARYL, lets keep it this way because we dont want to lose you because we've only just found you, your a shining STAR.xx.
I think of all her performances of this song on youtube, it is the one I like most... She is truly ammazing... The official video for this song, I don't know, I really do not like it... And, lol, crap mistake by the producer, "River of Dreams" is a song by another truly great singer, Hayley Westenra, with music from Vivaldi's Four Seasons. And this is "River of Light", based on Richard Strauss' waltz "Blue Danube".
Interesting if slightly addled comment. Just when did the producer say that this song was "River of Dreams"? ToddClassical is not the producer. The words "River of Dreams" appears in the tags list. The title of this video is correct. The purpose of the tags is to place the video in any thread bearing that tag. You will find numerous irrelevant videos in Faryl's thread simply because they include her name in their tyags.
Oh, I know the uploader isn't the producer and it's not his/her faultm, the title he put on the video is right. I was just talking about the title inside the video, at the very beginning.
@mike118117 mike the competitions are not elite enough, they are not part of the same circle, its like chalk and cheese to us she sounds brilliant to the establishment she sounds crap, just lookat the attidue to paul potts from the music establishment, they say he is rubbish even though he sang with pavorti. All this does not mean anything if u have not got the right back ground, its pure snobbery but allso based on class. To them farah is a provincal hack and thats al/
@Mulberry2000 now if she won musican of the year programme, she might get noticed but she would not get past the first round. I am talking about weay beyound level 8 farah to me is a level 6/7 but that is meaningless. I am not say she is crap i like here and enjoy her voice, but girl singers are too a penny. Just look at choir girl from yet again york minster, where the lad who sang who said he was bullied. they might have a better chance but its all a glass ceiling
@Mulberry2000 Firstly let me say that I am married to a graduate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and I need no lessons from you as to what is needed to gain a place in such an establishment. Faryl not noticed by the establishment? Double nomination at the Classical Brits Awards. Winner of the Classical Award at the Variety Club of Great Britain, Winner of the Silver Clef Award. You are comparing a 15 year old schoolgirl with star graduates of the great music schools. nonsense. (cont)
@Mulberry2000 (Cont)Girl singers are two a penny? You really are way out of your depth when it comes to singing talent. Faryl and Isobel both have years of training behind them. Girl singers like them are not two a penny. It takes dedication and commitment. As for Andrew Johnston his career ended when his voice broke. You obviously know nothing about eisteddfods. Especially the elite Welsh eisteddfod. These are not XFactor factories. Faryl intends to go to a music acadamy when she comes of age.
@mike118117 i do not know something about talent, and it is meaning less, no such think as talent, if you done something for years and had some form of teaching, it can bring out a dispositoin to that skill. my point is this u have to attend the right schools to get the right jobs. poor alln johnson voice broke no carrer, i rest my case
@Mulberry2000 Let me tell you a true story. Faryl's school, Southfield was, in my wifes time there as a pupil, called Kettering High School For Girls. For her A levels she chose music but the head said no. You will not go far in music. So she did maths. On leaving school she worked in a bank whilst keeping up her music studies. She gained grade 8 in theory and practical. She passed the interview and audition for the Guildhall. It is what you can do, not where you are from that counts.
From the Classical Brits to Saga Cruises! You would never have seen Charlotte Church or Katherine Jenkins doing cruises. Something tells me all is not well. Dont say I didnt tell you so!
You may well be right. In the July issue of Classicfm magazine there is a full page ad for a classical music cruise to the Baltic aboard the Saga Rose. Passengers are treated to recitals and concerts as well as lectures and classical music quizzes. Prices start at £2761 for the lowest grade cabins. it hardly suggests a tacky holiday camp type of atmosphere. Educational for a young upcoming artist too.
Omg Her Bday Is The Same As Mine Were Exacly The Same Age! Im A Gd Singer People Say But Theres No Way Im ble 2 Sing Like That!! Shes Amzing! The Awards Was On On My Sisters Bday. I Watched It + She Was Amazing!!!!
Well now Russell, having visited your channel i see that you like to puff yourself up. But having ingested all of that wind you just had to fart didn't you. Being a Bath University student equips you with the knowledge to judge professional dancers and singers does it? Isn't it strange that the two BGT losers, Escala and Faryl, are the most successful products of that series. You clearly haven't mastered the piano yet to the extent that you can impress the top music professionals. At 29 how sad.
Not quite good enough to get into one of the major music acadamies then. Faryl a winner at the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod. Invited back this year for the opening gala concert. Performed 3 times at the RAH. Will duet next month with Carreras at Hampton Court. Has a schedule of concert appearances up and down the country. £2.3m record contract. 10 weeks in top10 classical charts. 6 at number 1. Fastest selling debut album ever. Not bad for a "loser". What is your CV? Do tell me.
@mike118117 hi you are missing the point, these acadamies have a certian criteria and it does not matter a jot if you can sing in a popular sense or winning contests, being on tv and getting recording contracts, They think its just for the common people who do not know when they are being conned. Thats why people who are self taught canneer get int o these schools, its onlty the rich and people form a centre class who can get in these schools,
@Mulberry2000 I do not see the point that you are trying to make. Faryl is not self taught. She has been professionally taught from the age of seven and still is. Eisteddfods are where you get professional adjudicators marking your performances. Not celebrity judges nor the public. If you can win first prize at the most prestigeous eisteddfod in the world. Namely the Welsh International Musical Eisteddfod, as Faryl did, then you are more than a run of the mill performer.
Is it "River of Light" or "River of Dreams"? That's...confusing.
