I believe this is from the BBC's "Rock Goes To College" filmed at Brighton Polytechnic on February 10, 1979. When they returned in August of that year Rick commented on this TV broadcast in an interview by saying "Robin was sick and so was the sound".
No insult. When I first read the uploader's name I swore it said "GreatGuitarHerpes." I was thinking, "Odd and interesting name!" But then after looking at it the 3rd or 4th time I can see it says "GreatGuitarHeroes."
@JeffPDX1--alcest35 is right on...Check out "ELO Kiddies and Gonna' Raise Hell" just for starters. Cheap Trick and Robin Zander can take on any band and come out on top...they have been together 30+ years...how many other bands can you offer with that longevity? Check out alcest35's Cheap Trick playlists for a fabulous sampling of their work...and then tell us Robin Zander is the weakest link...there is none in this band!!!
@JeffPDX1 Robin Zander is anything but pretentious. One of the all-time best voices in Rock & Roll. CT still performs hundreds of concerts every year, and even now Robin can kick any other singer's ass. Check out some of their really hard rocking stuff .
@Writerofthebizzarre Tell that to the 10's of 1000's of fans who packed stadiums and gigs in 1979/1981!! They were huge worldwide and I had the pleasure of seeing them live in '79. Great Band!!
Why isn't band bigger than the likes of U2and all the other floor-gazers I'll never know. This song is not a good example of what they are capable of though.
Ha Ha, oh wow, this takes me back... thanks uploader!

So young and fresh at that time..... wow....
Kurt Cobain was probally really inspired by these guys I bet....
This was the first Alternative / Grunge band ...... pioneers of simple but effective
On a side note, check out my cover of Bush's Cold Contagious with Wynter Madisyn on vocals..... just type in "Cold Contagious" covers

Because Robin Zander is kind of a pretentious pretty boy instead of a charismatic front man. He is 'the weakest link' Rick and Bun E. make the band

@xDevilInMyHeart Thats Rick's personality. Thats how he is. He's married and he's a bit of a character. He's far from a creepo.

Classic pop rock song! Why this band hasn't become a mainstream success I don't know, especially with incredibly catchy songs like this!
