@gonzalops31 - There's been some debate in the comments. The sentiment is that you should cook the chicken cubes for 35 minutes @ 400 degrees before putting them in the pie mix to protect against salmonella.
I've made this meal many, many times as shown in the the video. With the pie sitting on the top shelf everything comes out thoroughly cooked. That being said, It's always better to error on the side of caution I suppose, so cooking the chicken first is prudent.
I made this very same dish, though I never put it in the oven, I ate it raw.... and I liked it very much....Cooking it takes to much time and I didn't get sick, Dam those moron chicken critics...
You should NOT put raw chicken with the cooked vegtables! Very bad and dangerous advice. The juices from the raw chicken will soak into the vegtables - unsafe. In addition, the juices coming from the chicken will soak into the dish making it soggy. I tried this receipe and my family could not believe that I had put raw chicken in with the vegtables. Cook the chicken first as instructed in comment by freakshow2000. This video needs to be removed before someone gets sick and dies from it.
Salmonella is usually transmitted to humans by eating foods contaminated with animal feces. Salmonella present on raw meat and poultry could survive if the product is not cooked to a safe minimum internal temperature, as measured with a food thermometer. Salmonella can also cause foodborne illness (salmonellosis) through cross-contamination, e.g., when juices from raw meat or poultry come in contact with ready-to-eat foods, such as salads.
boil the chicken first.....then cube and them bake for 35 minutes at 400. Dont forget to butter the top of the crust or it will burn and you will look like an idiot...
