I don't think people should argue over Madonna and Kate Bush. Honestly, I think Madonna's "Like A Prayer" and "Ray of Light" are some of the most impressive pop albums I ever heard, but I think every Kate Bush album is more enjoyable than her albums.

The choreography here is much stronger and more assured than on the video, she obviously had more rehearsal time. Kate looks great and I always thought it was a great shame that she never did a live show based on the 3rd and 4th albums. What a show that would have been! This gives us a glimpse of what the dancing would have looked like.
She did a promo tour of Australia way back when to promote Hammer Horror & somewhere there is video of interviews etc etc with Molly Meldrum, + a segment where Molly grabs her thigh and promptly gets told "where to take it". Could one believe this of Molly? Most uncharacteristic! Apparently the "Tour of Life" took too much energy & money out of her.
Kate Bush is the most stunningly talented and original female talent of the past century, no exaggeration!! This video just proves it. After "Wuthering Heights" she could've headed for a "safe" pop career like Madonna and probably been more successful in the US, but wisely (and thankfully) followed her muse instead, wherever it took her, commercial or not. And so we get the power and magic of a performance like this (not so dissimilar to the video, though!).
Amen to that!! It's just such a shame that here in the US crap like Madonna sells millions, while Kate Bush remains a "cult" artist. The Brits have *much* more sense and intelligence than us.

It must have been the sheer spectacle appeal that opened doors: "Let's she what bizarre stuff she's come up with this time!" And not bizarre a la Nina Hagen, but almost more like the Residents. Just great to watch!

Kate Bush is the most stunningly talented and original female talent of the past century, no exaggeration!! This video just proves it.
