  • On the trumpet solo, my director had the first chair try it out, and he totally bombed it. So he just picked me to try it randomly (I'm third chair) and I aced it! Not to be rude or anything, but it was EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • First chair (though I much prefer a 3rd or bass part) Trombone Senior and we are playing this in 2 of our 3 bands, it's pretty simple looking at it but all 3 movements are not recommended for beginner bands...not if you want it to sound this amazing.

  • We played this last year! It was fun.

  • fun part for the Euphonium

  • sight read this yesterday... It's pretty, yes, but BORING for the saxophones. It was nightmarish to have to play it more than once. Thankfully we're probably not gonna play it for concert...

  • @Dragonastra Which saxophone do you play? Alto or tenor? I play alto, and the music for this song is quite fun for me even though I have the 2nd alto part.

  • @GreasyBalls418 Alto. I barely remember this, hahaha. I just thought it was ridiculously simple, and for a level below me and most of the band...

  • I remember the loud voice of our director screaming at me "VIBRATO, FLUTES, VIBRATO!!!" She still scares me.

I play double bass in my concert band, and i can say the second movement is pretty fun and easy. Especially if your band is good

  • I love you for posting this and movement II

I played the oboe part on flute...still sounds just as gorgeous on all movements

  • Oh my goodness, I absolutely love this movement! It also sounds great.

I was second trumpet on this piece and playing the counterpoint was always fun [at the time, my band did not have Horns so I had to play the counterpoint on my own XD]

    Thanks for posting this! <3

  • No Problem! :) I'm glad you enjoy it!

  • Thanks for posting this, we're playing this in our concert, actually. I mean, I heard the original many times before, but it's fun to hear it again*. :)

*Especially since I play snare drum, and during lessons I don't hear the tunes. :P

  • I know the feeling. As I listened the only thought I could conjure was, "So THIS is what it sounds like without the snare drum being so loud in my ears!"
