How do you append materials, because I would like to take materials from other blender projects and use them in new ones, like if I made a nice wood texture for a desk a while back, I want to use it for a cabinet, how would I do that? Thanks in advance.
Well, you'd pretty much have to do the same. You know when you click on append and you choose your file?
There's a menu once you click on the .blend file, and this menu lets you choose what you want to append, be it a texture, material, empty, whatever you want.
Thanks! But what if I were to want to append the animation of the pyramid as well? When I append the object, the animation changes when I scale or move the object. ):
That, I must say, eludes me. I have never tried anything like that, but I imagine it's a similar process. Look up importing animations or something, if you haven't already.
D: it didnt work! it didnt do anything, and when i pushed shift-f... couldnt get to 1, Thescreen started flying everywhere! Seriously, i didnt know blender could do that!
lol funny this only works if the item is in the mesh in in the same project as the one ur working on and thats not posible of you wouldnt need to do this cous it would already be there lol what a crock IT dont work
Of course it's a verb. Now go back in time about 1 3/4 years and tell your old self this. (when the video was made). Although that would alter the space time continuum, you would move on to be a spelling teacher and completely abandon Blender.
bahahahha why are you siting in youre desk like that XD and "im on a killing spree" roflroflhahahah dudeee all youre tutorials make me laugh and there very helpdul too
...or how about Autodesk? Thing is, I can't fork over that kind of money to get all the tools I want that aren't included or good enough. Blender is just fine with me
no, Autodesk isn't ONE OF the best, it IS THE best; professional video game-makers and pixar and the such use Autodesk's products and a mix of their own plugins to make what they do
What you're not seeing is after you choose the file that you want appended, choose "OBJECT" from the list that pops up. Then choose the file that you need and hit the RETURN key. Both meshes should now be on the same screen. Hope this helps.
I think you spell blender like blanher or isitatmydeskweird or 'the cat tail whipped me in the eye' or bulendur, I think im a bit off feel free to correct me!
Selecting the vertices and pressing w>merge>4vertices>center seems a bit easier than scaling something down to a minute size and ordering a hit man to remove doubles and do god knows what with/to them.
Uhm... if you could state the time at which I did that, I think it would be a lot easier.
Usually, I think that is callled Crease, you do it in SubSurf, Edit Mode, select all (or just the faces you want) and press Alt+S. However, if Alt+S is your TV Out shortcut key...
One thing I seem to be having a problem with is not saving the files, but deleting them when I'm done. I have many projects I have saved, but now I want them deleted and don't know how. So, how do I delete the saved files when they are no longer needed? :o)

Just look for material and load it up.
You're welcome, in advance (hoping it'll work).

Append
(Transitive verb) ap·pend·ed, ap·pend·ing, ap·pends
1. To fix to; attach.
Of course it's a verb. Now go back in time about 1 3/4 years and tell your old self this. (when the video was made). Although that would alter the space time continuum, you would move on to be a spelling teacher and completely abandon Blender.

How did you inflate the subsurfaced ball into a pyramid from 0:43-0:46?
muffin1102 3 years ago
Shift+E in Edit Mode, it's called CREASE. Pretty useful, but only for subsurf as far as I can tell.
agent47crows 3 years ago
What key do you use to merge vertices?
augis1996 3 years ago
Well, either ALT+M or scale the vertices down to 0 and remove doubles by pressing W, remove doubles.
agent47crows 3 years ago
Selecting the vertices and pressing w>merge>4vertices>center seems a bit easier than scaling something down to a minute size and ordering a hit man to remove doubles and do god knows what with/to them.
Riyuzakisan 3 years ago
I mean when you subsurfed one pyramid inserted it in the other and sized it to the borders
augis1996 3 years ago
yes and how you did that pyramid
augis1996 3 years ago
Aww, come on!! You just have to merge the top four vertices.
agent47crows 3 years ago
please insert a tutorial of what you did in the beggining
augis1996 3 years ago
The subsurf?
agent47crows 3 years ago
doesnet work
augis1996 3 years ago
hey, you do know that your objects always look like mercury (element) when you subsurf them. thants not a bad thing

MDAaron1971 4 years ago
Well, if you use the Blender interface, just select the file(s) with RIGHT-CLICK and press X.
On the other hand, you can enter your hard-disk manually and SHIFT+Del them on the spot.

Well, just input the frames manually and add the bloom of your choice.
And always hit refresh if you're doing any changes in the 3D view or Rendering Settings.
