if you want to learn some cross sticking , abandon this crap example , and go watch the Adam Deitch / Bobby Deitch home video ...they do a crossover that really makes this one look like a piece of shit ...like a porsche compared to a Yugo ...
looking to carter beauford as a role model on the drums is not a good idea unless you are playing in a similar musical situation as him ... that is to say , unless you are in an improv oriented situation where you can take a lot of liberties , then Carter`s type of playing will most likely not work , it might even get you fired .
I agree with Morris. I enjoy speaking to all the drummers I can. I do believe there are a few people watching this and maybee beginers tryin' to learn what he is doing. i would advise to pull this vid until the guy learns how to play well enough were he can help people. No hate towards the guy who made this vid. he was very good and articulate when he spoke!
omg those toms are set up sooooo wrong.......make them so the heads are parallel to each other, (that way you have an even, uniform plane) then tilt each slightly down towards the snare...have a look at any Modern Drummer interview and see your favourite drummer's kit (s)....do any of them have their toms placed at such spastic angles??? No. Guys....learn ergonomics, you wont end up with aches and pains that way LOL
@morris97 i completely agree with you in the sense that all DRUMMERS should be given the respect they deserve. However, just because you play drums does not mean you automatically acquire the title of "drummer." That being said, i don't not see this individual as a drummer, rather as a person whom expert village contacted to participate in their online campaign of dumbing down society. instead of a fellowship id rather portray us as guild, in which you must have fundamental skills to be in.
before doing that shit crossover(noisy useless thing) , first learn how to setup a kit , then how to sit at it properly...then finally learn from a good teacher before posting bullshit on the net.
I'm not going to lie, that's the dumbest sounding fill I've heard in a long time. The way that Carter utilizes that effect is entirely different than throwing it in there after a stupidly easy rock beat in a 4 measure phrase.
It's not a matter of ease, I'm just saying that it's not even really a great sounding fill for someone who's not a great player to learn in the first place.
it was a good lesson and i dont mean to be mean but your set sounds... yeah... you should tighten your heads and maybe when you did the crossover on the cymbals you should have did it near the middle with the tips your stick rather than the edge with the middle i think it wouldve sounded better just a little criticism other than that great job
if you play it on the snare drum and floor tom. it sounds really cool and looks cool too.

Why so much hating on here. You gotta be humble as a drummer and show respect to other fellow drummers cause we are fellowship
