@llFleminll He's not nerving it... he uses the same technique as Tim... but Tim uses swivel and shuffle... i think it's called. GK uses only swivel. you can't see it very well cuz of the angle, but he's not nerving it.

@paistegus That's the swivel technique and of course he uses triggers at these speeds, but not to make him sound or play faster, just to sync the double bass because no human can precisely sync it at that speed.

I'm willing to bet Roddy could cover most of Nile's songs. In fact, he recorded with Nile on Black Seeds of Vengeance. So I wouldn't doubt Roddy's ability at all, just because he's not out touring with Hate Eternal anymore. He might have a little trouble with Kafir or Papyrus, those may be a bit fast for him. But a song like this where endurance is key, no problem for Derek. Let's not forget, if it weren't for Derek, George might never have been in Nile. Cheers to both of the metal masters

PS - have you see the vids of Roddy blasting for Malevolent Creation in the early 90's. Fantastic stuff and up there for speed already!

well first of all do you like nile?cause sometimes our tastes in music limit our objective thoughts...and if you do please check some videos of kollias playing and then check some of nicko.its not about speed we re talking about.kollias can play in a very tachnical way.nicko is a very good drummer but could never play death metal while as i said before kollias can play whatever he wants.i appreciate both of them but i for me kollias is way better...

But you also have to keep in mind, that Derek is familiar with every style of drumming, meaning he is one of the few extreme drummers, who manages to be a genius in every genre of drumming!
