  • Ос, классная концовка, когда поясами обменялись

Nice end of fight , when karatekas exchanged with belts

  • 黒帯の交換がかっこいいね

  • Awesome fight. Most guys would crumble from those hits.

  • do they wear shin pads?

  • 黑沢浩樹對角田信朗,黑沢咁嘅年紀係打得好好!!

  • This is cool and all, but watch other fights from Pride and lets talk.

  • worst comments anywhere!!!!!!!!!!

  • I respect this I really do, I myself have doen alot of body sparring and know how much stamina and good condition it takes! but... you cant call this a real fight on any level its about whos body can take the most punishment nothing more, drop your hands and pound away boys!!

  • People who don't practice that kind of combat don't know how much strength, stamina and power it takes. Maybe they don't punch in the face but not wearing gloves is a totaly different thing.

  • True it even says it in English Full Contact Rules in the start

  • Karate is good ,,, Suck??? what

  • To: suzmot, i am sure you are talking about your weakness doumb ass, moron!

  • If the winner had taken 1 Muay Thai class to learn how to kick properly the fight would have been over sooner.

He was landing leg-kicks at will on the loser, but had horrible technique with no power so he just wore them.

  • would be much better if they have you to coach these professional fighters

  • It's a good thought, but practicers of the weak martial arts like karate/taekwondo generally have no idea how innefective they are and wouldn't listen to an outside style trying to help.

  • And I suppose you are a proper authority on what is a "weak" martial art. I'm sure Andy hug would be quick to disagree with you.

  • ...Andy Hug is dead.

    He's not disagreeing with anyone.

  • I know that. The point is that for a practitioner of a "weak" martial art, he sure did pretty well against kickboxers, wouldn't you say?

  • He did ok.

But he was a rarity, one out of a thousand fighters who learned to use TKD effectively; by dropping the vast array of innefective moves and learning some basic kick boxing defence / technique.

  • You should check your information. Andy Hug was not TKD, he was Kyokushin, like these fellows in the video.

37 wins (22 by KO), 9 losses? I would say he did better than simply "ok." He excelled.

  • I also highly doubt that he ever dropped the vast majority of techniques learned in Kyokushin. Although you may never see him use a knife hand or a groin kick in the ring, the training under kyokushin gave him the basics necessary to be an effective kickboxer. Yes he trained in kickboxing, but one can see that the concepts learned from karate factored heavily in his style, even if you may not see the actual conception of them in practice.

  • Consider such fellows as Chuck liddel, Bas Rutten, and georges st. pierre. All of them trained in karate (Liddell=Koeikan, Rutten&Pierre=Kyokushin), and I highly doubt any of them would discount the training they received from the traditional schools.

As such, i don't believe that calling this Karate a "weak" martial art is a fair assessment.

(whew. that's a lot of info I wanted to get down there)

  • *applause* :)

  • suzmot:

You must live in a small country town where the only martial arts around are muay thai and taekwondo, of course you feel superior.

Theres kyokushin dojo's all over Australia, Manly, West Ryde, Shell Harbour, Wolongong; please go in and have a training session with them (usually they have one free session, no commitment). Make sure you tell them you have combat experience, otherwise they might take it easy on you. After you do that, feel free to bash kyokushin.

  • lol don't be so quick to glorify it. Brazil and Thailand are poor countries - people who have gone there to train have frequently been disappointed. And there are "McDojos" willing to give you a BJJ black belt for $100 in Brazil too

  • $200 ;)

  • Wow... very nice!!!

  • Wow that was pretty intense

  • wheres the video of Kakuda knocking out Mavrick?

  • OUCH!!! Nice fight thou.. WOW!! they even swaped belts!!! Thats huge!

  • What are the different between kyokushin and seido? Aren't both the same karate?

  • The seidokaikan style derives from the style kyokushin. The seidokaikan broke out from kyokushin along with Hideyuki AShihara, bun when he did not get the no2 position in ashiharas new stylehe left after a few months to form his own style.

Technically they are close to identical, and the seidokaikan rules is taken from kyokushin with a few

  • cont...

that should be... the seidokaikan COMPETITION rules are taken from kyokushin with a few minor modifications

Seidokaikan has no ban against pro-fighting though, so many top kyokushin fighters has left kyokushin for seidokaikan to get away from the "amature competition only rule" that kyokushin used to have.

  • Kurosawa beat that ass!

  • since they both were fighting at a close range, wrestling techniques and sunmissions could have tipped the scale for either one.

  • This is a special match, right? I was actually expecting a PRIDE Fight. Oh well!

  • great respect between top fighters shows the true spirit of what mas oyama tried to cutivate in budo and kyokushin osu!!!!!

  • Good fight, Pride has the best sportsmanship.

  • nice fight. Not mu

ch fancy footwork, but these guys are heavyeights after all :-)

seen it before, but didnt realize Soeno was the ref. Cool.
