The US Supreme Court HAS ruled on same sex marriage. The dismissed a case, Baker v. Nelson, for "for want of [a] substantial federal question." Such a dismissal of the case on its merits makes it binding precedent. The Court has already said that this entirely a state matter.

Just curious, is gay marriage truly about two people loving one another, or acceptance? Speaking for myself, I am an 11 year married heterosexual. And as far as I'm concerned I would care less if the government wouldn't allow me and my wife to be married. 1. Marriages are not God's doing, as atheists and pagans and polytheists get married all the time.
2. You cannot apply laws retroactively, otherwise the government could raise taxes now and then ask you to cough back taxes for all the years prior to this. The marriages before Prop 8 were legal, ergo, stand.
3. Public opinion is moving gradually towards acceptance. The youth of this country are 70% in favor of equality. As they get older and start voting in numbers, this is over for good.

The US Supreme Court HAS ruled on same sex marriage. The dismissed a case, Baker v. Nelson, for "for want of [a] substantial federal question." Such a dismissal of the case on its merits makes it binding precedent. The Court has already said that this entirely a state matter.

I am very sure that the supremes understand that an activist judge doesn't have the power to become a caesr and nullify 7 million votes because the voters don't share his bias. Perhaps we should eliminate all marriages and only grant the same "civil union" to all couples regardless of gender or sexual orientation. Then all the religious bigots could be as hateful as they want without infringing on the rights of others.
If it was up to me, I would stop giving special privileges to anyone, so that those who choose not to get married could avoid being discriminated against as well.

This to me is a non-issue. If you don't agree with marriage equality, don't marry someone of the same sex! As a school teacher, I don't ever recall reading/citing the words..."with liberty and justice for ALL" and seeing the word, "except". Separate but equal does not, has not and should not work. We can not "eenie meenie miney moe" through our neighborhoods and point to who is allowed marriage or not. As a christian and American, I am for equality, love, and acceptance for all human life:)

First of all, learn to write a coherent sentence in English. Second of all, each time it goes to the voters the margin by which anti-gay measures pass gets smaller. Between Prop. 22 and Prop. 8 the margin shifted 15 points. A couple more years and a few more points and that's the end of it. You can deny it all you want, but all the trends are against you.

1. Marriages are not God's doing, as atheists and pagans and polytheists get married all the time.
2. You cannot apply laws retroactively, otherwise the government could raise taxes now and then ask you to cough back taxes for all the years prior to this. The marriages before Prop 8 were legal, ergo, stand.
3. Public opinion is moving gradually towards acceptance. The youth of this country are 70% in favor of equality. As they get older and start voting in numbers, this is over for good.

as a real christian the majority of jesus's teachings are about acceptance and not passing judgement, only god can judge and deny people their sacraments. And if any of you people had actually studied the DSM, homosexuality was never part of DSM-V, but was ruled out in the seventh print of DSM-II, in 1974, not because of political pressure, but because of research done by several renowned sexologists; people who actually knew what they were talking about.

Sexuality is complex and just because something deviates from a perceived norm does not make it unnatural.
And there's no evidence to suggest that a same sex couple can't provide the same level of care for a child that a hetero couple can.

People's sexuality is NOT a disorder. You are how God made you. And if God made you gay, well then I guess you're gay.
Furthermore, homosexuals are as normal as me and you. And being normal they DESERVE to be treated in the same way as us. Which means they DESERVE to marry.
And same sex marriges certainly won't destroy society. If anything, it will show how far society has come since the times when a man and another man weren't even allowed to hold hands in public.

Have you ever read the DSM-IV? Do you even know what it is? It specifically states, in terms maybe even you could understand, that homosexuality is not a disorder or disease. My wife and I were married in October, thus our marriage is still legal. By your statements, society is now destroyed. Oh well. And if you're so against AMS, why don't you fight having to learn a foreign language in schools as well. Are deaf people suffering from a disorder and not normal as well?
