i'm not sure, but i THINK that someone's gonna win the million tomorrow night. (apparently someone posted on buzzerblog that Sony accidentally posted a spoiler on the show's website, i didn't see it, BUT the way the comments were worded makes it sound like that's gonna happen.) (someone already posted about it on the spt message boards a couple weeks ago. (they had gotten an email from sony that strongly encouraged them to watch on the 14th.
I'm not talking about the first game shows to give away a million regardless of network or syndicated broadcasting. But that Millionaire was first to give it away on syndie TV,then Jeopardy!
I think Wheel of Fortune will be the 3rd game show in syndication to give away $1,000,000+ to a contestant. Both former ABC primetime hit Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? and sister game show Jeopardy! came in as the first two.
Right, but by the way Jeopardy! isn't a Million Dollar Game. You think that because Ken Jennings won over $2 million dollars as a 74-day cash winnings total.
Although I like this idea, I must say that Wheel of Fortune sadly has jumped the shark for me. I still love the show but honestly there is just way too much stuff on there and it's not as fun to watch it compared to the earlier years.
I agree, but as with Jeopardy Price, etc. It was bound to happen. Now all 3 of the historic game shows still on have or have had million dollar incarnations. Sign of the times. as ive said. BOUND TO HAPPEN!
I am hoping for season 26 that the low dollar values should be from $500-$1500 with two top dollar spots in each round; rounds 1 and 2should feature a $3500 space and a $2500 space, round 3 should feature a $5000 space along with a $2500 space and round 4 on should feature the $10,000 space while the other big dollar amounts like the $5K, $2500 and $3500 still on the wheel and maybe a $2000 space as well, it might be big bucks on wheel of fortune next fall.
here's what i think should happen. i would make $500-$1500 as the lowest dollar value for every round, going up by $50 on each space and making the top dollar values $3500 for round 1 and 2, $5000 for round 3, and for round 4 and up, $3500, $5000, and even a gold $10,000 space minus the bankrupts on the sides. bonus round: $100,000-$1,000,000 WITH the possibility of landing on an envelope that will have 2 prizes in it, like a large amount of cash plus a smaller prize and vice versa.
Ok, this worries me a bit. Why are they doing this? Are they really that desperate to bring back viewers? If Merv Griffin was still alive he never would have allowed this.
They add more cash and prizes, because the show has a very BIG budget, and they figured that since Jeopardy! had given away $1,000,000, and so did The Price is Right, even though they never were $1,000,000 game shows regularly (specials don't count as regulars), WoF should do the same.
To my knowledge the person will need to hit the $1M wedge on the wheel during a regular round (like the wild card), solve the puzzle to keep it, AND win the game in order to have one spot on the bonus round wheel to have a card worth $1,000,000... It will not be easy but it can be done.
And unlike in Australia, it's NOT airing against DoND. :p
So, chances are, it will survive to see it actually won! I can't wait!
I also wonder if they'll change the confetti drop. For a $100,000 win it just sprinkles on the contestant. So for $1,000,000, they will probably drop a lot more on the stage.
I felt so down after hearing the Australian MDWOF was cancelled. But I alos saw this as I was watching Wheel this evening!! I'm so excited I just can't hide it! I told a bunch of people already, including my parents! ^0^
Hey people, someone actually won the million tonight.

That wedge hasn't been around for that many weeks, and already this happened!

That voice on the promo is the late, great Don LaFontaine.

It's like holding on to the Wild Card when you want to take it to the Bonus Round, right?
faysal21adigun 3 years ago
Yeah, except you have to solve the puzzle in order to keep the Million Dollar Wedge.

Originally, the wedge used to be called the Bankrupt/$10000/Bankrupt Wedge.

I think that they will bring back the $1500 wedge and the minimum amount will be at $400.

If the $1,000,000 Bonus Round was won, it'll be probably not only the confetti, but added colored balloons in it. I'm not sure.
pricefan87 3 years ago
i think the get more confetti i think
rmenga4 3 years ago 4
Why not they add fireworks in it too?
And for the million dollar bonus round... It's tough to win it, but I damn hope it's going to happen.
Boom12 3 years ago
I wonder if they (Wheel of FOrtune) are also going to change some dollar amounts on the wheel? For The New 26th Season.
snake5475 3 years ago
you would think by now $5,000 would be the top dollar value for round 1 and $25,000 be the top dollar value for round 4

Just like it had been done with the $100,000.

only 10 times more tougher than winning w/ the $100,000.
megamanj2004X 3 years ago
i have 1 question though, will the bonus round be changed to the way it's played in australia?
Wheeloffortunefan999 3 years ago
i wouldn't think so. there just up grading the cash prize. which is about time.
