the emotional abuse from my father has plagued me since childhood. Appearently I wasn't perfect enough for him seeing as he still won't accept me as I am being that I have to live with High functioning autism. Because of the lack of acceptance, I have been sterilized, he has (twice) threatened to place me in a group home or take away my rights and independence by petitioning for legal guardianship (thank god nothing has happened yet tho and nothing will)
I first got sexually harassed when I was 12, then again by a different guy when I was 15, and then after 4 years I thought I'd found a nice guy, but he turned out to run away with my innocence, he would throw things at me, hit me, and on our first date after he had his way with me, he cut my hair and held a blade to my head telling me I better trust and love him or else. And at 23, I've decided Im perfectly fine being single.

I have seen the aftermath of abuse, I once met the family of a woman whose husband beat her so badly, she is unable to move or speak. I met another woman who is currently incarcerated, because her boyfriend who (after she left him), broke into her father's house where she was staying and she shot him. He beat her every day, yet she goes to jail for attempted murder? We need stronger laws to deal with any violent crime.

My Fiance decided to go, July 5 '11, & drink( drug?) and come home to take his agressions out on me- my head & neck( that was broken in a car accident in '04).. He caused me some serious pain & an MRI showed that the little bump by my temple was actually because it had been fractured there.. He was arrested and due to family crisis I'm not able to be in court, and courts have not let me know of postponement- Yet I LOVE him & I am planning on going back, because he is going to get help..

I am 59 and in 1970 -76 I worked in the E.R. at a hospital in Kansas City that was the public hospital and we were the county morgue as well. We got the worst of the worst. I have seen so much brutal ugly violence committed against men, women and children. Many died as we tried to save their lives and failed and many D.O.A. I won't describe what I seen but it is true real life horror.

Oh and BTW my mother raised me to respect women. There have been times When I have been mad as hell at my girlfriend, but never would I dream of violently laying a hand on her. What I normally do is grab her and hug on her till we both calm down and discuss it like rational people. Violence should be saved for the movies, treating anyone like they are less than you or like property is just wrong and those people who act like that need to grow the hell up.

I have seen the aftermath of abuse, I once met the family of a woman whose husband beat her so badly, she is unable to move or speak. I met another woman who is currently incarcerated, because her boyfriend who (after she left him), broke into her father's house where she was staying and she shot him. He beat her every day, yet she goes to jail for attempted murder? We need stronger laws to deal with any violent crime.

with all due respect, there are early signs for guys that will beat women, being a guy myself i would never EVER hit a woman, unless they hit me, there is a difference, however you do not need to go to the extent of leaving someone left for dead because they hit you, or disagreed with you. but if you go through one minor beating....it only gets worse from there, i know too many of my lady friends that do that and put themselves in that situation, some guys shouldn't be alowed to walk this earth

I agree, abuse sucks. Keep in mind it goes both ways, my brother in law got hit in the face with a shovel by his wife, though he never laid a finger on her. On the same token, anyone who stays to take the abuse, needs as much help as the abuser. I know what love is, and even if you love someone, if they beat you, your better off without them...

My Fiance decided to go, July 5 '11, & drink( drug?) and come home to take his agressions out on me- my head & neck( that was broken in a car accident in '04).. He caused me some serious pain & an MRI showed that the little bump by my temple was actually because it had been fractured there.. He was arrested and due to family crisis I'm not able to be in court, and courts have not let me know of postponement- Yet I LOVE him & I am planning on going back, because he is going to get help..

The courts Did Postpone the date & I will b there for it, He &I need to talk but I think that, with counseling & meds, he can get over his anger & his 2 addictions( even if he IS 55, I am 33) But if he won't talk to me & agree to go see some1 before I come back & then it is not worth it, if he can't work on his addictions then I wont b there!

I am 59 and in 1970 -76 I worked in the E.R. at a hospital in Kansas City that was the public hospital and we were the county morgue as well. We got the worst of the worst. I have seen so much brutal ugly violence committed against men, women and children. Many died as we tried to save their lives and failed and many D.O.A. I won't describe what I seen but it is true real life horror.

When women abuse men most of them compensate for there size with a weapon and it becomes even more ugly. All race, age and genders may be subject to abuse. Also, i believe rape should be a hanging offense
