  • I love this, i wanna teach my horse this :)

  • Awesome! I love the part when he just switches direction and the horse is like "wait for mee!!"

  • Way better than parelli (:

  • I believe in this. Nothing can take away your belief in something.

  • Its the same as people with crazy dogs. You have to treat a horse like a horse and what makes them treat YOU as the boss same as dogs. They are both pack/herd type social animals who need an "alpha". Thats why there so many messed up animals. people have seen 1 too many Disney cartoons and humanize them. They dont think like humans so you cant treat them as one. Thats not saying mistreat them at all. Treat them like one their own kind who is in charge.

  • wow amazing training

  • @louloubelldv he is showing how desensitized she is

  • Comment removed

  • Simply amazing. Thumbs up!!

One of the best methodes in horsemanship.

  • I wish there could be more people like this in our world! THUMBS UP to the real Cowboys! :) Good job!

  • I am in the process of turning a rescue mule of Skippper W lineage back into a normal reacting mule , who completely broke down from a Clinton encounter. This may work with a horse, although from any equine's point of view this must seem a series of odd tasks, but with a very intelligent mare mule it took 14 consistent months of normal requests to get her to trust a person. This video helped me understand what had caused her very odd reactions. Not every technique will work with everything

  • If horses could talk I bet they would all say "Thank-you, Mr. Anderson, for waking up the world of horse enthusiasts to a true understanding of our feeble minds." God bless Clinton Anderson. I hope that he is truly happy and living his dream.

  • All of you out there that appreciate the best in horsemanship, I strongly urge you to view Pablo Hermoso. The bravery, the bond, the skill and the passion of horse and rider WILL BLOW YOUR MIND!!!!!!!

  • I LOVE 1;25!!!!! its so cute1 the horse looks like (S)he was really into it and having fun:) its like a cat following string!:D

  • Even though Buck Brannaman is still my favorite horseman, this is amazing! Clinton takes the #2 spot. :)

  • Hey, "pootang47" it's called a "stick and string." It is never used as a whip. It is, truly, one of the most gentle desentisizing instruments in the history of horse training. If you truly love horses, I encourage you to further your curiosity of Clinton Anderson.

  • can i ask why he has a big pole with a rope or chain on the end of it ?

Honestly curious, because ive seen a lady do this with nothing but her hands

  • Who needs a wife when you got a horse like that!!!!

  • I bet that it can be rather trying to possess so much knowledge. How does Clinton feel, day after day, surrounded by uneducated horse owners?

  • Perhaps we should incorporate Mr. Anderson's theories into our everyday lives: "Make the wrong thing difficult and make the right thing rewarding."

  • that horse side steps better with no rider than my horse does with anyone on her back...

  • Although dressage is considered the highest level of riding, the horses oftentimes appear "swishy" and uptight. They are also known to "break down" early in life. Clionton's horses may not perform to the highest level, but they appear relaxed, sound and trusting. In my opinion, Cliinton's horses are far more comfortable and can perform far beyond the years that a dressage horse can. Am I wrong?

  • Did God send Clinton Anderson to rescue one of His most precious creatures from the ignorance of man? If so, when the rapture comes I will miss him terribly.

  • What a brilliant trainer. This man really knows how to communicate and not cowboy the horses. More trainers could benefit from his style. People who don't like this vid don't understand horses.

  • what i think is so funny is i would bet that the people that dislike this do not take as good of care of their children as he does this horse.....

  • This man is AMAZING....how can someone dislike this video. if you can't like what Clinton and mindy have you probaly shouldn't be watching this or horses period.

  • 1:14 XDD I love doing that with my horse :)

I love natural horsemanship, it's amazing!

  • Seriously gifted...awesome to watch

  • thats so sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I've seen better tricks at Ringling bro's. Why is he so amazing?, Because he has made tons of money off silly horse people? He does make a lot of sense in his email tips. But the dumb horse people who need them won't bother to read them.

  • @coyotee62 It's not that he's doing tricks with Mindy, its that she's listening to him so incredibly well. You also have to realize that the circus tends to train their horses and animals with violence and fear. Clinton uses body language and movement. Make the wrong thing hard and the right thing easy. Horses are amazingly smart, so they take advantage of people easily and show them no respect. Clinton demands respect and his horses give it. That is what makes him amazing.

  • what was he doing with the whip at around 4:47? I don't like it!! :( but the rest is epic!

  • @ILoveHorses370 He was popping the whip to show the audience that the noise did not bother the horse.

  • @AshleighRSexton Oh, ok! Sorry!! :) Thanks!

  • If one were to want to see a real horsemanship ride, watch Chris Cox ride Pepto without a rein..enough said.

  • @spotlite69 Check out clinton anderson riding diez bridleless. He is reigning without reigns.

  • @spotlite69 Check out clinton anderson riding diez bridleless. He is reigning without reigns.

  • @spotlite69 He can ride any one of his horses bridleless. And this is horsemanship to a T. Horsemanship doesn't mean training for a SPECIFIC discipline, it means how well is a trainer communicating to the horse and teaching it how to act. Yes, he is putting on a show...of what ANY horse can do if there is mutual respect. His horses are reiners, cow horses, trail riding mounts, he's trained jumpers and dressage...I follow his methods and my horse is on the road to do anything I ask of him.

  • This is Horsemanship? it is a show, and it is good.. but really Horsemanship? how does this apply on a working ranch? or trailriding? Clint is a good trainer, 2 time road to the Horse champoin.. I ams ure he can rdie. this is a show..

  • This is the best horsemanship video on youtube!!!! Anybody who questions Clinton or his method needs to see this video!! This is just absolutely beautiful what he does with Mindy!!!!

  • i went to his clinic @ kent washington and was slightly bumed to discover he had retired mindy but i saw him work with deiz and all was forgiven. he is an amazing trainer but i did notice he has a bit of a foul mouth and there were som pretty young kids there

  • Amazing!

  • what is the name of the song that plays in the second video, he introduces us to the horse?

  • @netowpn Its by Nickelback called "Far Away"

  • FABULOUS! This video brings tears to my eyes simply by witnessing the beautiful bond that these two share towards one another!

  • @jesusonhi to be honest, its not a bond so much as a good trainer and a really trusting mare. its not like they know eachother on a personal level and hangout... clinton anderson is a great trainer

  • @hero2zero573 To be honest, if you don't believe that you can achieve a bond with a horse then you shouldn't be talking. Yes, he is a good trainer but this horse wants to do what Clinton is asking of her. You can't just take any ol' horse and do this because he is a "good trainer", it takes a special horse and a special person to achieve such a bond and only a few people can accomplish that. Have a little bit more respect.

  • @radatzs hey im not trying to argue, i'm just saying my friend is a trainer trying to recieve a mentorship from clinton anderson, he's trained an "ol' horse" just like this, he's using all of clinton's methods and he did just fine with a rank old horse. so calm your self and show me respect.

  • good job clinton! you probably worked HARD on that:)

  • Their bond is so amazing ♥♥

  • The bond between a horse and it's owner is incredible.

  • 27Iluvhorses your exactly right bout the amazing and hot u go girl he is very hot

  • Y u people think Clinton Anderson beats his horses

  • 35 people wish they were 1/2 as talented

  • I love him sooooo much!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHH HE IS SOOOO AMAZING AND HOTT!!!!!!! I love his horses

  • @xbreezieluvverx

He doesn't hurt the horses. You need to shut up and go away.

  • Comment removed

  • @xbreezieluvverx hes not hitting the horse u idot! pay attention!

  • @xbreezieluvverx He isn't hitting/smacking/ hurting the horse at all get your eyes checked he isn't hitting the horse the whip is above her back, and when he is riding he is hitting the ground. It kinda looks like an Australian Stock Whip you don't hit animals with it you hit the ground and it makes a pop.

  • @xbreezieluvverx ooo ur being silly Anderson is NOT hitting that horse! She doesn everything for him becuz she loves him and wants to please him. i never once saw that whip go down on that horse any harder than a touch just to show her which way to go. He loves his horses! Your just jealous! If you really watched his stuff and paid attention you would know he would never harm a horse and understand his feeling toward them.

  • @xbreezieluvverx and, where might you have learned this? that horse looks BEYOND healthy and cared for, she doesnt look beat? If he knows nothing then why is that horse doing things that millions of dedicated horse people find amazing? You sound ignorant and jealouse. I have never seen him use pain in one of his clips or shows on TV to transform a problem horse to a dream horse and he has never suggested it. Don't be a bitch.

  • How does he do it?!

  • I hope everybody KNOWS that Clinton Anderson dropped out of highschool....Yeah he's flippin' burgers right now huh (:

  • @TheRedhorse3 he probably doesnt recommend it though.

  • Dude I love Mindy!!(: I Got to Meet her and Clinton Anderson :) It was amazing and i was only 11 and now im off to training my own 4 year old((: I use most of Clintons methods He is the best specially in person(:

  • i love clinton anderson! me and my mom use almost all of his methods to train and work with our horses

  • that is a bond at its greatest (: they are incredible

  • i wish i had a horse that could do that!!!! i would love to own mindy!! i would ride her every day...and practice the method on her...she would be the best horse ever!!!!

  • This is really cool but the only part I didnt like was when he pulled the horses tail :/

  • @MultiSilverbirch he didnt really pull on her tail but he just held it so she knew he was back there...and he tuged it very gently so she knew to back up

  • Now that was awesome!!

  • It's magic! *_*

  • i love you mindy

  • Clinton is amazing i barrel race but that is so cool

  • When is he coming to the UK???

  • omg he is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Clinton Anderson Downunder the bit horsemanship he uses the Rollkur. THIS IS NOT TRAINING AND PARTNERSHIP THIS HORSE IS JUST A POOR MINDLESS SLAVE.

  • @LORIM8810 Try watching some of his bridleless video's and you will see that he never really uses the bit. He uses his body. Please don't make rude comments like that. Many people, like me, have a lot of respect for his riding and reaching style So please before you go and post something rude do the research and get other opinions before you judge.

  • im a parelli lover but the rescue barn i volenteer @ is clintin anderson so i need to learn

  • thats a pretty damn horse you caught on video. He thinks his owner has a giant bucket of food in his hand and will follow him anywhere. But really, nice horse.

  • She's a pretty horse

  • This is sooo awesome!

  • Horses must love this guy! Just think about it. If THAT is arena work, your horse will always find it to be a pleasure to do "work". I've found that horses tend to hate arenas if you only use that space for drilling circles to nowhere.

  • There is so much respect between them. Mindy seems so relaxed.

  • oh wow he really amazing at this

  • the horse and the trainer won my respect, taking the music video exelente ridiculous, they had a quality music to as? a country music ... at least not a waste of failed

  • Ah my goodness!! Clinton Anderson is so hot and he really knows how to handle a horse! Whoo! I've bought all his videos and I'm trying to teach my horse to do all this. It's soo hard, but seeing this really shows how rewarding all that training is :)

    Luv ya Clinton!!! :D

  • This is wonderfull!

  • i am going to marry this man

  • i have a horse that follows me but not like that,

one day i was picking up rocks and throwing them out of the yard so he dicided to help pick up the rock. then he put them on the ground in front of me.

he now has artritis and i cant ride him no more but i love playing with him alot, we do alot of ground work togeather he needs to be exercised some how...

  • ok u know what how do u know that horse want beat wih that stick to learn to do that and its afraid its goin to get hit so i obeys

  • @101rileyrocks no, a horse would not do those things willingly. The 'stick' is a carrot stick, mostly used for the extension of your arm. She loves to work for him, if you couldn't see her expression. Also, a horse that wasn't comfortable wouldn't lay down in the arena, with people cheering. And I'm pretty sure if Clinton 'hits' her, he wouldn't be so gentle, and rub her all over after she was done.

  • @101rileyrocks Because, genius, if that horse was afraid of the stick, the second it was turned loose, i would be running in the opposite direction, not fluently carrying out each movement in total relaxation.

  • I've seen this 4000 times and it still makes me cry.

  • what is he holding? a whip?

  • @hopeful9723 In the first phase he's using a carrot stick, an extension of the arm not dissimilar to a whip, but never intended to touch the horse, more as a visual aid. In the ridden phase of the clip he is carrying a stock whip, which was once used for mustering stock by cracking it loudly. Now he's just cracking it next to the horse to illustrate the trust she has in him.

  • I am in LOVE !!!!

  • That is without a dout the best bond I have ever seen

  • 34 people dont know how to live.

  • wow amazing i love this

  • Good looking horse and man :) and both very talented :) the mare looks like the horse I ride a little bit

  • I am in love. Outstanding horsemanship and that really cool aussie accent. Oh my oh my!

  • Oh what a beautiful horse - how wonderful to be a part of something so awesome - to be blessed enough to have such a wonderful creature love you, trust you - and to see such a wonderful man full of love to this majestic creature - God Bless both of you

  • the spin a 7:08 is so cool! The horse I am working with does that all the time, out of anxiety, not because she's told to, but we're working on it :)

  • The showiest of horsemanship!!

  • i love how he rewards mindy with pats and rubs at the end and a few during the show!

  • This is what a true partnership looks like.

  • @ISupportRodeo He uses it to "extend his arm" as he says in his DVD series. He is really big on personal space and he is very aware and precise with how he uses it :)

  • catliz2008 The series is awesome. Definately aimed at all horses and is all the basic things that we can get so wrong sometimes. Had hepled me heaps with my horse :)

  • does anyone know if clinton anderson's dvd series of "gaining respect and control on the ground" are for any type of horse? i have a majorly disrespectful problem horse and i'm afraid to pay all that money for the series if it's supposed to be used on a well-tempered horse

  • @catliz2008 I know it. I have also done it though I borrowed it. It is a great series. You just have to know what you want from the horse for the horse to see it. Pay great attention to detail and you will do fine.

  • @catliz2008 Yes they are. He shows 3 different types of horses for each example of horsemanship he demonstrates. One horse happens to be a very disrespectful mare. I have the series and it is well worth the money! I love it and he does an excellent job of explaining what he is doing.

  • @Frankiediego finally, an intelligent response. Thank you!

  • That horse is soooo gorgious!

  • We love Clinton. My wife has been very successful using his techniques for years. Check out the video of our stallion Chief (SONNYS MISTER TRUBAR) in the video response above, playing with a Clinton Anderson No Tip Feeder :-)

    Scott Nelson

  • Amazing!!!

  • what kinda horse is mindy? and do they have a website?

  • i really do like this until it came to the riding, did her really have to whip his horse every stride?

  • @AshleyFowles he wasn't whipping her, he was cracking the whip next to her to show the audience that she won't spook or run away from it, he does not use the whip on a horse unless they need it

  • @AshleyFowles if you haven't seen any of his work, one of his biggest points is to show the horse that is doesn't have to be scared. this is pretty much a way to teach a horse to trust you and not to spook at anything or everything that comes along.

  • THIS is fabulous horsemanship, and Clinton is an amazing horseman! And you can't forget Mindy, she is a superstar horse =)

  • Amazing, does anybody know the name of the 1st song??:))

  • I can NOT wait to see him on his tour in 2011:DD I get to see him on my Birthday!!:D

  • He Is A Really Good Trainer!!!

  • For all of you who think he's whipping his horse he's not. His horse is taught to go with commands from the whip and he's either snapping it or he's just bringing it throught the air. Get your facts straight people!

  • why does he use a whip on that poor horse ? i think it is scaired of it :/

  • @1283jm wow... ur an idiot. Horses react to electricity in the air. when he whips his whip NEXT to the horse that horse know what clinton is asking it to do. he never hits the horse... horses are very reactive animals on the right side of their brain which is also why he does it on the right. Its a whole lot of training to be able to do that. but if you have seen the other things with mindy and his other horses he has such a big bond with them to the point where that horse trust him entirely.

  • @ehsbandgeek2009 I heard part of the bonding process Clinton wrote about is allowing the horse to lick peanutbutter off his testicles three times a week, did you here the same?

  • What I love about this video is you can really tell his horse enjoys what they do, and really loves him. Makes me happy.

  • aweeee i thought the ending was adorable!

    "oh yes! a belly rub!!!"

  • We should all be taking our hat off to this guy................ its the first time I have watched him and he is totally amazing.

  • i want to marry this man!!!!

  • @sjoracing587 woops and theirs 31 haha me to

  • This man is my hero, he is amazing!

  • this is simply amazing :) i would love to beable to do this with my horse ! X

  • when anyone that dislikes this video can compete with everything Clinton does in this video, then i will maybe understand. but until then, people need to understand that this is true horsemanship at it's best. when a horseperson can be just as efficient with their horse on the ground as their are in saddle, they are truly an amazing hand.

  • just amazing.

  • could anybody help e find out his tours? II REALLY! wanna see him!

  • @Lordsangels03 go to his website. there's a schedule there. :)

  • @fabbella1 thank you SOO much haha

  • @fabbella1 thanl uuuu

  • @Lordsangels03... I was at his last clinic of the year this weekend... Check his site for next years dates! It was absolutely amazing.

  • @Lordsangels03 check his website just type in his name on google should find it

  • @truebluehorselover thanks :]

  • @Lordsangels03 there is one in july i can find out more info for u i love clition he is soo amizing

  • omg he is amazing i wsh my pony would do that but all he can do is roll to get yaa off his back

  • OK I HIT THE LIKE BUTTON BUT I WANT TO KNOW WHERE THE LOVE BUTTON IS!!!

  • Mindy & Him are amazing! I know someone who uses his methods for training and the horses she trains are awesome!

  • whats up with the stupid whip?

  • @hyperfocus2011 It's to be used as an extention of the arm, not beating like many people think. It's simply a tool used to give cues, and not for doing any harm to the horse.

  • @hyperfocus2011 If you are refering to the bullwhip - most horses will spook at loud sounds, even on the ground, but especially if they are coming from the saddle.

In Austrailia, the way many horse people claim to have a good horse is if you can crack a bull whip off of the horses back without it spooking.

  • i absolutely idolize Clinton. He's by far the best trainer/clinican in the entire world. there are loads of ways to teach horses but this is the best way. anyone who says he's in it to make money, you're right. but he does it honestly and teaches YOU how to get respect without fear from your horse and ready him for show or trail. there is nothing he can't teach a horse. mine are livng proof of that.

  • That's just amazing, that the man and horse are reacting to each others body language and gestures that well.. I've only saw two times before Natural Horsemanship with the method of Pat Parelli I think, but I don't practice it myself because of the lack of a horse ):

Oh well, that doesn't mean I don't quit watching others doing it <3

  • Simply beautiful, amazing trust

  • There is something to being able to do that with a horse, but this isn't horsemanship. This is showmanship. Big difference. Lets see him ride a horse, or maybe get throw to a horse who has been on the wrong track for a long time. That is horsemanship.

  • @ohsoloco Obviously you haven't watched any of his videos. He has video of him working with thoroughbreds off the track and even started a wild mustang under saddle. He is amazing and one heck of a teacher!.

  • @horsesr2 My problem with guys like this is horses aren't their business. Showmanship is, they just use horses to do it. They don't work with horses everyday. And by that I mean that the horses they are "training" don't get used for work. Take someone like Martin Black, Bryan Neubert, guys like that. They make a living on a horse, partners with a horse to get a job done. Being able to do that is horsemanship in it's true form.

  • what do you do if you don't have a stick? this is super cool, but i'm curious if you could go with just your arm? anyone know. lol although, clint your amazing! mindy your beautiful! hahahhaha

  • @lilroper416 i have been training my horses uses Clinton's methods for about 3 years now. you start out with the stick but as you refine your technique you eventually don't have to use it at all. i use it with my young horses and foals and keep it with me just in case i were to need it. i don't use it at all with my older horses. once they get it (and they ALL catch on quick) you hardly ever have to use it. i can lean over and look at my mare's hip and she'll turn and face me with 2 eyes.

  • AWESOME!!!!! MINDY AND CLINTON ARE AWESOME....

  • I'm crazy in love with this man!

  • This is amazing! Its so wonderful to see a bond between trainer and horse like this!

  • The Hours and Hours of time it took to get MIndy to respond like this , really it is incredible. Mindy loves him for sure.

  • AMAZING

  • i hope Mindy Has a wonderful Retirment!! :D

  • they probably dont have horses lol. This is awesome!!

  • It's is everybody's dream,(horse persons) to become that great it a rider

  • amazing ! what a beauty of a horse !!

  • love his work on every level, hope to see him someday when he is close again

  • Man and his horse a bond that when reached is very special.

  • Clinton Anderson is amazing, and because he's so awesome, Mindy is an amazing horse too!! Happy retirement Mindy!! XD
